Mary C. Davidson Mitzlaff

Richland, WA - Mary Mitzlaff, 95, long time Richland resident, passed away January 28, 2017, at Fieldstone Memory Care, Kennewick, WA, after a brief illness.

Mary was born in St. Paul, Oregon, to Edward and Eleanor Davidson. She was #2 of 7 children: Patricia, Mary, Jim, Don, Bob, Laura, and Ray. The family farm is still going.

Mary attended the University of Portland College of Nursing from 1939-1944. She moved to Yakima and was a nursing instructor at St. Elizabeth School of Nursing from 1944-1950.

In 1950, Mary married William (Bill) Mitzlaff and moved to Richland. They were married 53 years. She lived in the house they had built for over 50 years until she chose to move for health reasons.

Nurse Mary worked for the wonderful Dr. A.G. Corrado (allergist) from 1962-1997. She volunteered at Kadlec, Catholic Family Charities, and Meals on Wheels among others.

She was a member of Christ the King Catholic Church, Young Ladies Institute, National Catholic Society of Foresters.

Mary used to belong to a bridge group, was an avid bike rider, enjoyed pinochle, LOVED returning to St. Paul and visiting family and friends. Her and Dad spent January in Oahu for nearly 25 years.

She is survived by her sister Laura, brother Ray (Joann), sisters-in-law Tedi and Ruthie, brother-in-law Leonard Ferschweiller, son Jim (Marlen), son David, daughter Anne (Mark Gerken), granddaughter Katie (John Phillips), grandson Mark, great-grandchildren Josh, Megan, Wyatt, McCoy, Elliott.
