Mary C. Holsclaw ("Nell"), 92, of Hopewell, Virginia, passed away peacefully on July 14, 2025,

Born on July 6, 1933, in Hopewell, Mary was the daughter of the late William Collins Sr. and Addy Watson Collins. She was a dedicated professional who retired from the banking industry in 1995 after many years of service. Her commitment, warmth, and kindness were well known to both her colleagues and clients.

Mary was a devoted mother, grandmother, and friend. She is survived by her children: David Holsclaw, Ross Holsclaw III, Cathy Holsclaw, and Debbie Young; and by her grandchildren: Joshua Holsclaw, Megan Fulp, Paul Holsclaw, and Ross Holsclaw IV. She was preceded in death by the father of her children, Ross Holsclaw Jr.

Mary loved to travel and especially enjoyed cruises, always embracing the chance to explore new places and make lasting memories. But her greatest joy was found in spending time with her family, whom she cherished deeply.

A woman of quiet faith, Mary attended Merchants Hope Episcopal Church and carried her values of love, kindness, and grace throughout her life.

In accordance with her wishes, Mary will be cremated. Her ashes will be laid to rest at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Chester, Virginia, at a later date.

She will be dearly missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew her.
