Over the last 19 years we have had the honor and privilege to know Ms Mary. She was very friendly, intelligent and caring. Almost every year she would patiently spend time sharing her knowledge and experience with neighborhood students when they got their "history of Greenville" projects from the High School. What a beautiful mind she possessed. Ms Mary was highly respected and loved and we will miss her.

I have known Mary for many years as our sons (my Neil and her Cody) were childhood friends. She was a sweet lady and devoted to family and serving in our garden club world.

Mary was such a sweet lady, always smiling and thinking of others. She was a member of our senior group, The Joy Club, at Lee Road Baptist. I admired Mary's many talents which amazed me. We loved her and she will truly be missed by many. Our thoughts are with family and friends.
Love and Prayers,

I have known Mary through Paula, her neighbor and the person thatches looked after Mary along with her other Christian neighbors. Mary was one of a kind. My thoughts and prayers go out to the entire family. Mary had great neighbors which made the last years of her life great. She knew she could always count on them.

Mary was my little spunky, feisty neighbor. She always kept me on my toes, and taught me patience. I was blessed to know her and to have her as my friend. I love her and I will miss her, but know that I will see her again in Heaven. My thoughts and prayers to her son Cody and his lovely wife Cindy and all of the wonderful family. Paula Taylor

Dear Orr Family,
Mary was beloved by everyone who knew her. She was a gifted and gracious Lady to all and will be sorely missed, especially by her gardening friends. Her gift of designing flower arrangements and decorating was her "joy" in life, as much as it was a joy to be her friend.

Mary Orr was my sweet friend for many years and will be missed by so many folks. She loved the Kilgore Lewis House and all the gardeners and flower lovers who visited there. She was loved and respected by all.

Mary was the mother of a friend during my childhood. I have always remembered her as a sweet, loving, caring person, who always wore a smile. I had a chance meeting with her at the Kilgore-Lewis house some years ago and found her to be just the same beautiful lady. I know she will be greatly missed. Good childhood memories.

Mary will be greatly missed. She was a helper to everyone. Her floral designs were absolutely beautiful, and she appreciated all the compliments she received about them. As she grew older, she remained just as active in her favorite events as ever. She loved her work with the Greenville Council of Garden Clubs and the Lake Forest and Clarice Wilson Garden Clubs. Mary will always have a place in my heart, and I will miss her.

I first met Mary at the Kilgore-Lewis House, when it was my turn to bring flowers for the dining room table. Having no artistic talent at all I just plunked bunches of my favorite flowers into a vase. Mary saw them and asked me, "May I touch them?" "Oh, please do!, I replied. Mary disappeared outside with a pair of scissors and reappeared with an armload of green plant cuttings. Within minutes she had created an amazing floral display. I remarked on its gorgeous appearance and impressive size. Mary was petite. She replied, "I like to make really BIG arrangements." Well, she sure did! We all loved her for that spunk and spirit. What an inspiration! - Gail Brewer, Lake Forest Garden Club
