GLOUCESTER — Mary A. (Nicastro) Parisi, 87, of Gloucester, wife of the late John B. Parisi, died on Saturday morning, Nov. 7, 2009 at the Seacoast Nursing and Rehabilitation Center surrounded by her loving family.
She was born in Gloucester on July 1, 1922, daughter of the late James and Grace (Bologna) Nicastro. Mary attended Gloucester schools.
She was employed for many years at Gorton Pew and in the late 1960s worked for 10 years as a baker at the Peg Leg Restaurant before retiring.
Mary was a life-long member of the Madonna Del Rosario Society.
She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
She is survived by her daughter, Marianne Parisi McCarthy and her husband Michael of Gloucester; two sons, Joseph Parisi and his wife Edie of Gloucester and James Parisi and his wife Rebecca of Rockport; daughter-in-law, Marcia Chabot and her husband James of Manchester; eight grandchildren, SFC Kenneth Muise and his wife Dalvis of Hanscom AFB, Bedford, John Muise and his companion Keith of Tennessee, Darci Cepeil of Salisbury, Heather Klyce and her husband Richard of Gloucester, Allison Chalmers and her husband Larry of Rockport, John B. Parisi and his wife Dianne of Rockport, Salvatore N. Parisi Jr. of Gloucester, Joseph J. Parisi of Manchester; 16 great-grandchildren; her sister, Annie Curcuru of Gloucester; sister-in-law, Rosaline Novello of Gloucester; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was predeceased by a son, Salvatore N. Parisi Sr.; a grandson, James A. Parisi Jr.; four sisters and a brother.
ARRANGEMENTS: Her funeral will be held from the Greely Funeral Home, 212 Washington St., Gloucester on Tuesday, Nov.10, at 10:15 a.m. followed by a Mass in St. Ann's Church, Holy Family Parish at 11 a.m. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend. The burial will be held in Calvary Cemetery, Gloucester. Visiting hour in the Greely Funeral Home are on Monday (today) from 4 to 8 p.m. Contributions may be made in her name to Friends of Seacoast, Seacoast Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, 292 Washington St., Gloucester, MA 01930 or to Hospice of the North Shore Inc., 75 Sylvan St., Suite B-102, Danvers, MA 01923.

Your mother was a wonderful person. I've known her most of my life. I enjoyed seeing her and all of you on Sundays at Seacoast, while visiting my mother. She's someone I'll never forget. I'm sorry for your loss. My prayers are with you all.
