Thank you for the note about mother. She told me you called her at home one day to chat. It delighted and encouraged her to receive telephone calls, visits and cards from so many of her Cargill co-workers and friends. It had been several years since speaking with many of you, but the kinship still remained.



Karen,

It was nice of you to join us at the funeral to celebrate mom's life. She enjoyed the card, letter and photo you sent her a couple of months ago. Mother knew the friends made through the years at Cargill cared and loved her.



Two dear friends, Sandy K. and Anne W., who rode the Van Pool with mom, were at her bedside shortly before she passed on to the Lord. Three of us girls and the Hospice Chaplain were also there. We had a beautiful prayer service together. Mom was in a peaceful coma.



One of the prayers was what a treasure God would have in heaven now, a very talented artist. She is heaven's treasure now, hand-painting anything the Lord allows her to decorate.

It is with a sense of sadness and yet joy--sadness because of the passing of a wonderful person, joy because she resides now in a much better place. I remember Mary Lou in the work place at Cargill with her effervescent positive attitude and interest in others. She was so talented--I still treasure an old wooden box that she painted so skillfully. It was given to me by some other folks at Cargill as a bit of a gag, but it was so fun and Mary Lou went along with it. Thanks Mary Lou for the impact you had on so many lives!

Memories of Mary Lou are from my working experience with her in Cargill's Seed Division. She was always so pleasant and whenever she was asked to do a rush, she never complained, always did it with a smile. She was truly one of the most talented and creative people I have personally known. Every year when I bring out the Christmas decorations, there are several that I fondly reflect on from Mary Lou. I was so delighted for her when she was finally able to retire and do the things she loved! Her memory will live on for many years - my deepest sympathy in the loss of a dear friend and colleague.

Fran, thank you for your thoughts. The friendship you and mother had must have been for 20-yrs. She thought of you and your children fondly. I'm glad you were able to visit with her this year. She's reached the ultimate goal in life, heaven.

I was so sorry to hear of your Mom's death. She was such a great person. I always enjoyed working and joking with her at Cargill.



I also have many of her "momentos." She made me quite a few things for my kids and myself. She was such a talented person. Mary Lou will be truly missed by all her friends and family.
