Mary Rappa Obituary

Mary L. Rappa, 73, of Carneys Point passed away on July 14, 2008 at home. The daughter of Norman and Juanita (Sherman) Dolbow, Mrs. Rappa has been a resident of Salem County her entire life. She attended the Calvary Baptist Church in Carneys Point, was a Past President of Tops, an exercise and weight loss group, former member of the Eastern Star and a lifelong lover of animals and nature especially dogs. She was well known for volunteering her service and time to various animal shelters.

She is survived by her loving husband of twenty-nine years Joseph Sr., her mother, Juanita M. Dolbow, her sons, Clifford Smith and his wife Janet of LAC, Joseph Rappa Jr. and his wife Lynn and Albert Rappa and his wife Colleen, a daughter, Johanna Rappa, a brother, Norman Dolbow of Alabama, sisters, Anna McCann of Pennsville, Billie Lou Berger of Wilmington, NC and Dawn Hurtado of San Antonio, TX, two grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Her father Norman C., a son Brook Smith III and a brother Joseph Dolbow predeceased her.

A Service will be held on Thursday, July 17, 2008 at 11AM at the Calvary Baptist Church, 303 Green Ave., Carneys Point, NJ. The viewing for Mrs. Rappa will also be held at the church on Thursday morning starting at 9AM.

Interment will take place at Salem County Veterans Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family has requested that donations go to the Salem County Humane Society, N. Game Creek Rd., Carneys Point, NJ 08069.

To my father and all of mary friends and family I am so sorry for your lost and sorry I could not be there ,But I am with you all in loving spirit and my love goes out to you all, mary will live on in all your hearts and minds with out all the pain and suffering I know she was very loved why she was with us and will go on being loved for ever. my heart goes out to you all. god bless . think of all the good times now I'm sure thats what mary would had wanted it to be . she will always be with you.for she is in peace now.
