Mary Roszak

Mary Catherine "Kathy" Roszak (née Honnessy), age 71, passed away peacefully on April 22, 2025, in Frankfort, Illinois.

Born on June 4, 1953, at Little Company of Mary Hospital in Evergreen Park, Illinois, Kathy was the beloved daughter of Joseph and Mary Honnessy. She grew up on the south side of Chicago surrounded by family and community where she developed a lifelong love for creativity and connection.

Kathy shared a 52 year devoted marriage with her husband Richard, building a life filled with love and family. Together they raised two daughters, Jennifer and Jill, who were the pride of her life. Her role as "Baga" brought her immense joy she cherished every moment spent with her grandchildren: Delanie, Duncan, Aubree, Kinsey, Patrick, and Matthew. Whether attending school events or simply sharing stories over dinner, Kathy treasured these bonds deeply.

She remained close to her brothers Joe and Don Honnessy throughout her life and held dear the many cousins who enriched her extended family circle. It was these cousins who "...made you belly laugh so hard you need to catch your breath and pray you make it to the bathroom on time. "

Kathy had a passion for crafting that touched every corner of her life. She found joy in crocheting, sewing thoughtful gifts for loved ones, and exploring new creative projects. Her hands were rarely still-always busy making something beautiful or meaningful. She also loved discovering new restaurants and sharing meals with those she loved most. Above all else, time spent with her grandchildren was what she valued most-whether trying new recipes together or enjoying adventures out and about.

Her warmth and creativity left an indelible mark on those who knew her. Kathy's legacy lives on through the handmade treasures she gifted to others and the memories shared around kitchen tables and craft rooms alike.
