Mary (Esther) Rowe, 100, died Friday, May 6, 2016 at Golden Living Center, Park Place Care Center, Grand Island.
Funeral services will be 11:00 A.M. Thursday, May 12, 2016 at Apfel Funeral Home with the Rev. Harlan Palser officiating. Burial will be in Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery, Grand Island. Visitation will be 1 hour prior to services at Apfel Funeral Home. Memorials are suggested to the family to be designated at a later date. Apfel Funeral Home is caring for the family.
Mary Esther Rowe was born July 27, 1915 in Valley County, Nebraska the daughter of John Ashton & Katie Blanch (Johnson) Palser. She grew to womanhood in the Davis Creek Area of Valley County, Nebraska and graduated from North Loup High School with the class of 1933. She was united in marriage to Wilber A. Rowe in June of 1934. To this union 5 children were born.
Those left to cherish her memory include two daughters and sons-in-law, Linda & Dale Gallaway of Grand Island, Marilee & Reo Weeks of Lincoln, two sons and daughters-in-law, Wesley & Marilyn Rowe of Central City, Gary & Dee Rowe of Alda, 22 grandchildren 61 great grandchildren, 18 great great grandchildren, sister, Eva Phelps of Lincoln.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Sharon Gleason; granddaughters, Susan Kathleen Gallaway and Amanda Kay Gallaway; brothers, Harold, George, Carroll, Paul, Arthur, Richard and John Weldon; sisters, Stella Kerr and Florence Wright.
