Mary SCHEER

LOVELY BRAVE LADY who is an exceptional mother --- values that supported a LEADER in her son.

Mary was my preceptor and mentor when I began my nursing career at CHEO. She was a compassionate nurse and a sharer of her knowledge. I owe my roots in nursing to her and she has left a footprint on paediatric nursing. I have fond memories of the stories she would share of her three children and husbandheart of her life. The Heavens gained another angel.

I am deeply saddened to hear of Mary's death. Mary & the Enright family were my family away from home. Mary & I roomed together for our 3 years at St Joseph's School of Nursing. We shared great times & many laughs together. I will always have those memories. My condolences to the Scheer & Enright families. You are in my thoughts & prayers.

Mary was one of the kindest souls I have ever met. I will never forget how she and Jim welcomed me into their home, took me on family trips, gave me delicious family meals. They were my family away from family. Mary, I will never forget our talks and your hugs. I will forever miss you. May you walk with angels and thoughts of you comfort your family and loved ones until you meet again.

I also worked with Mary on the Paediatric unit at Riverside Hospital. I have many fond memories of our time together there and although I moved from Ottawa many years ago, we have managed to keep in touch, and I'm glad we had a visit not too long ago as well as a telephone conversation. I will miss her. My thoughts and prayers go out to all of the family.

On behalf of my mother Rita Cameron and myself, I express our sadness at Mary's passing. Mary was a good friend to my mother at the senior's residence where each lived. As well, I had the pleasure of talking with Mary at numerous times and often about her favourite team, the Blue Jays.
