SCHOOF, Mary Clare (Lapierre) Passed away peacefully at the Ottawa Hospital - General Campus, with her family by her side, on Monday, December 11, 2006, in her 61st year. Daughter of the late Mary (nee Hayes) and Raymond Lapierre. Cherished mother of her only son Kristopher. Beloved sister of Jimmy (Barb), Doris Rae Lanoue (Andy), Rita Fox (Mike), Sally and Gilbert. Predeceased by brothers Joseph, Alex and sister Ada Edmonds. Clare will be fondly remembered by her niece Susie and her nephews Grant, Jason, Jeff, Jeremy, Matt and Johnny and their families. She will also be missed by her many relatives, friends and colleagues at the Export Development Corporation .Relatives and friends may call at the MURPHY FUNERAL HOME, 296 Isabella Street, Pembroke on Thursday 2-4 and 7-9p.m. and after 9:30a.m Friday. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday morning, December 15th, at 11 o'clock in St. Columbkille's Cathedral, Pembroke. Interment St. Paul the Hermitte Cemetery, Sheenboro, P.Q. I worked with Clare for many years at EDC. She helped me through some very difficult times, for which I will always be grateful. She was a kind, gentle and inspirational person. She touched my soul, and lives on in our memories.

Deepest condolences to the family. I have wonderful memories of Clare at EDC. She was like a mother to me when I joined her dept. for 6 years. We spent many a lunch time together and she never complained about her health issues. She was very special to all.
