Earlier today

I worked with Mary at the Howard County Library and always found her to be a cheerful and helpful and an all around a fine person in every way. Rest in peace, Mary.

I have such fond memories of singing in the alto section with Mary with the St. John's choir! When I first started there, I told her she was my "anchor" because I always knew where to sit. She was the kindest, most welcoming person I think I have every met. When I read that her nickname was Sonnie, I literally laughed out loud! That description fits her to a "T!" Mary was quiet, but she was quite a powerhouse of energy and you always felt her quiet kindness around you. To her family, you were so blessed to have her as your mother/mother-in-law/grandmother. As Peggy Bagwell said, may she rest in peace. God bless her!

I sang in the St. John's Choir for several years with Mary. At that time we knew very few people at St. John's and she welcomed us into the choir with love and warmth. She was so helpful when I had questions about the music and gave me much encouragement. We had many good conversations and I was sad when she decided to stop singing with us. I had begun to call her "Aunt Mary" and missed her very much when she left the choir. May God rest her soul.

So sorry to hear about this lovely lady. I knew her at St. John´s and my daughter pet sat for her when she went on her trips. I remember her love for cats.
