Mary Smith Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jul. 6, 2023.
Mary E. Smith, age 87, of Houston, Texas passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June, 13, 2023. Her beloved Maurice was waiting at the gates to welcome her home in his loving arms.

Mary is survived by her two brothers, Larry & Jackie (wife) Beach and J.R. Beach; her daughters, Sharon & Wandie (husband) Turner, Shirley L. Smith, Cheryl E. Perez; her two brothers, Larry & Jackie (wife) Beach and J.R. Beach; her grandchildren Samantha & Clint (husband) Lacewell, Nathaniel Turner, John & Marilyn (wife) Turner, Sam Perez, Alex Perez and Valerie & Kenneth (husband) Waugh and her sixteen great- grandchildren along with her beloved dog, Baby.

She is preceded in death, by her parents Lawrence & Addie Beach and the love of her life, Maurice Mould.

Mary was born on November 2, 1935 in Houston, TX where she wore many hats throughout her life: daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, friend and C.P.A. extraordinaire. She was a mother of three active girls, supporting all of their activities including being a Girl Scout leader. After raising her daughters, she went on to graduate from University of Houston, with a B.S. in Business Administration in 1972. Mary became a C.P.A., and built her own business where she worked for almost 40 years. She was actively involved with her family's lives. She met Maurice Mould, who had a similar sense of adventure and they would travel the world together. She dedicated her life to her work and was passionate about helping her clients with their accounting needs. She was a lifetime member of the UH Alumni and the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo where she served for years on the Coral Club. She enjoyed attending the Houston Ballet with her grandchildren. Her influence will forever remain in the lives of those who knew her.

We welcome the opportunity to celebrate this caring, courageous, independent, strong, loving daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, great- great mother, and friend, Mary E. Smith.

The family would like to invite you to a Celebration of Life that will be held at Grace Presbyterian Church at 10221 Ella Lee Lane, Houston, Texas on Monday, July 10, 2023 at 1:00 pm. The service will be held in the Founder's Chapel and a reception to follow.

Mary was my friend and did my taxes over 20 years. I live in Chicago but Mary always kept me smiling and she had a smile and laugh that I shall always remember. Prayers, hugs and kisses to all the family.

I miss my friend. Mary had done my dad´s taxes for many years and stayed sharp until the end, always bringing up memories and stories about my dad. Rest easy Mary Elizabeth. We love you. Andrew O´Donovan
