Sure loved Mom. Think of her and Pop often

Dear Paul and Family, I shall miss my email buddy. Although I did not know Mary well when we went to GHS together, it was delightful to get to know her since 2001's first GHS gathering. We had emailed one another off and on since then, and I got to know her as a woman of faith, concerned regarding the values of her country, as well as the well being of others.

I just heard about Mary and want to express my condolences to you, Paul, and your family. May the prayers of us all help you in the days to come.

Paul & Family:

We just now were told of Mary going home to be with her Father and Jesus. Words will never replace such a tremendous loss to each of you. I'm reminded of a song: "My Woman, My Woman, My Wife" which even though it is not totally scriptual is a good story about how important our wifes are to each of us. Thank God for understanding that man needed a mate and that Mary was your partner and life-mate. Know this: even though we've been out of each others lives for many years, today you are in our hearts and prayers. May God bless you with peace! CB & Barbara Luce

Paul & family, I remember Mary as a generous, cheerful lady and a great cook. She always prepared such wonderful dishes for our little Pharmacy lunches. Despite her own health problems, she was always quick to encourage and comfort others. My heart goes out to you.

Pop, Tim, Jason, Liz and families,

I know I have been out of your lives for over twenty years, but I want you to know you live in my heart. Mom and your family meant so much to me when I lived and worked in Groveton. I can't imagine how lonely I would have been without you and the church. I was just one of the many souls your family took in for Sunday afternoon dinners, co-signing car loans, gardening support, and "shucking" beans. Mom and I logged hours talking about life and the Lord. Pop, I remember listening to your lessons on Sundays and Wednesdays, as well as your explaining that my Subaru was a bus, Subaru spelled backward URABUS. I can still hear you calling me by your nickname for me "Cracker Jack Wimple". Mom and Pop were just as gracious as ever about 12 years ago when my husband Aaron and I visited. Tim, Liz and Jay, you're all married with children...? As you know your family was very good to me. Thank You so much for sharing your lives. Every year when I plant my garden or see wild flowers grow, I think of Mom. This year I will plant something special in her honor. If there is anything I can do to repay the kindness and support, please allow me the opportunity. May you find peace in this time of loss.

Paul & kids -- we're so sorry that our dear Mary was taken so young to go and be with the Lord in the Last Day,



It seems only yesterday that you and Mary stood before us when you said your vows.



I wish now that I had not been so rough in my drive on the streets of San Francisco -- Paul, do you remember -- Mary demanded to be let out of the car and walked.

Paul, our heart goes out to you and your family. Mary was such a special person. Have been out of touch since you moved from Groveton, but everytime that I saw her in Lufkin she would always come across to me and make a point to inquire about the family. She was always the same kind ,caring person no matter where you saw her. Our prayers and sympathy are with you and your family.

Mary was a jewel who always thought of others first. I met Mary when she started high school in Groveton. She was always so kind to everyone. I always enjoyed getting the "cleanest, funny jokes" via e-mail. Paul, William and I really enjoyed having dinner with you and Mary in Richmond, BC before you went on your Alaskan cruise. Remember, the Class of 1963 is here for you and your family. Our class is going to miss her humor and all the help she gave during our "Gatherings". I'll keep your family in my prayers. Mary is still watching over everyone from Heaven.

Paul and family, We share in your loss of Mary. She was the most thoughtful and considerate person we have ever met. She was special to everyone that knew her. Our thoughts and prayers are with you.

Mary was such a delight to work with at the State School. She was always so pleasent and kind. She had a heart for others before self and you could see the Lord in and through her. Long before I worked with her my aunt (Irene Maxey) went to church with her and I remember when we would see her in town and her and my aunt would visit. My aunt is with the Lord also now, but I know she always spoke of and thought highly of Mary. May God bless you and your family during this time and may you rest in the peace of knowing that she has no pain or sorrows now. Our prayers are with each and every one of you.

I remember fondly when I first met the Stringer family in late 1969 after moving to Alto. Then again when Tim preached in Marshall and I was in Carthage. You have a very strong family both physically and in the Lord.

Mrs. Stringer was always so kind and thoughtful. When she was my patient in the hospital she always seemed more concerned about the health of my husband (who is ill) than she was about her problems. She was a delight to have as a patient. I hope I made her life more comfortable for her in some way. We will all miss her but know she is happy with our Lord now.

Mary, along with Paul, went out of their way to make me feel welcome when I first moved here, to the extent of letting me stay at their home overnight while waiting for the movers to arrive with my furniture. She was gracious and thoughtful, with a wonderful sense of humor and I will miss her.

Paul, Liz, and family:

I want to express my deepest sympathy for your loss. Mary was a wonderful worker and an even more wonderful person. When she left the State School all of us in HR and Admin keenly felt her absence. I know you all will feel her absence for a long time to come. Our prayers are with you.
