Rest in peace lovely lady. I remember combing my bangs to the side like you did and all the girls in school would do it too. You made that hairstyle popular in our area.

Loved the Shangri Las. In the early 70's I was working at a job I hated but Mary Weiss sat behind me. Hearing her sing Wichita Lineman or By the Time I Get to Phoenix was AMAZING. She had a
beautiful voice, heart, and soul. Miss you, Mary. Peace & Love

I found this photo after I posted my condolences. Also, because I did not read my Posting before I sent It. the word (notes') should be spelled, (Noticed).
Sorry, I let my fingers do the walking.
Mary and I also played Scrabble at times. I would not have gotten away with the other word.!

It has taken me a long time to even respond to Mary leaving US.! But to answer
The first time I notes' Mary, was in Sacred Heart Grade School. At that time all the students were kept together from 1'st to 8'th grade. We were all just kids.
I notes' Mary in Maby 5'th or 6'th grade. There was this talent show at school, and of course the whole school went. (We were all happy to not being in class.)
I didn't know that Mary wanted to sing in it.
Mary sang the song " Lollypop " And she Nailed It!
Well, this little brain of mine said I think I would like to know this cute and talented girl better, so, I said Hi. and we became Friends. It also helped that her family lived next door to one of my best friends, John, Barbera, and Richie, Von Hegel. Their Mother and Mary's Mother became my second mothers. I lost my dad when I was 9 years old. (It did help to have 3 Moms looking out for you.)
Mary and I stayed just friends, even though the Shanager-La years. I can remember playing a lot of Poker games down in her basement with George, (The Root) her brother, when the group was on tour. (Good Times.)
We always stayed good Friends.
So, when I heard about her passing, it was a shock, to say the least!
I did not even know she had moved to California! We did keep in touch over the years, but the move I did not know about. But having talked with Ed, her husband in the past, I knew she was in loving and safe hands.
SHE WILL BE MISSED!!
With all of this said,
My Sincere Condolences to Ed, Elizebeth, and Tracie, and all of their Family's.
God Bless You All, and know that, The World was a better Place.
WITH MARY IN IT!!! Rest in Peace. (My Good Friend)
