Mary Betts Williams

She will be missed dearly. She came into my dad's life and brought nothing but joy and happiness! She was beyond amazing in my eyes. I never saw her once in all the years I came to know and love her, not be dressed beautifully. She loved fashion and it showed as she always dressed to the "nines." Talented? Yes, that was Mary indeed. A lady of so many venues of her talent whether in her beautiful paintings or just taking a twig from outside and making a stunning flower arrangement just from that one twig! She had so much talent. Most of all was what she and my dad share in the later years of their life. From the time they met, married, and all the years ahead for them to share. God bless Mary for giving my dad the best years of his life with love and companionship. What a lady! (I was Mary's step-daughter)

It was so wonderful having Mary for my stepmother. She was always so kind and caring. I have never seen anyone with such talents. She had such a nice family, and her home was an artist's showplace. She enjoyed making me caramel cakes...and my belly shows it!!! Dad was so happy being with her and enjoyed everything she did...they went together like peas and carrots. Grandma Williams just loved her so much. I love Mrs. Mary and will miss her greatly! May Mrs. Mary Betts Williams rest in God's greatest peace.

Ms Mary was a joy with her spunky attitude. She could name any flower you inquired about. Appreciated beauty and was a classy lady . She will truly be missed .

Ms. Mary was truly an inspiration. Mother and I made regular trips to the library when I was in high school and I always loved visiting with her. She is going to be missed.

Mary was a wonderful, kind, and sweet lady and the Williams family were very lucky to have her in our family when she married Gene Williams. Mary was creative and we have enjoyed her pictures in our home. She was always checking on her Great Grandson Braydon Williams and loved his pictures. God Bless the Betts and Williams family who both loved and cherished this wonderful lady.

Bless you and your family. Thank you for all you taught and did for my children. My Grandparents (James & Annie Green JR) and parents (Willie & Margaret Green) thought the world of you. As a kid we would visit at the library During our summer visit. You will be missed.

Mrs. Betts was a treasure to everyone who grew up going to the Caledonia Library. She knew us all, kept us informed of new additions that we might like, ordered anything from the central branch that we might need, and encouraged us to expand our horizons. Yes, I'm sure most librarians do those things, but not with the same care, love, and individual attention she gave. She had a huge impact on all of us.

I REMEMBER Mrs. Betts like it was yesterday at the Caledonia Library in the 70's and early 80's!!! She was always nice to everyone........ Stacy Hollis

Mary was such a talented lady and shared her crafts with others. She will be missed by many who knew and loved her. May God bless her family and hold them close in this time of sorrow. My prayers are with you all now and in the days to come.

I have great memories of spending time at the library, especially during the summer reading program. Thanks to her, I was interested in reading at a young age.

I met Mrs. Betts back in the middle 70s, when my family rented the “big house” as I called it—the beautiful one with the wrap-around porch. I was a sophomore at Caledonia High School. Mrs. Betts became a fast friend of ours, but particularly to me. She took me under her wing and gave me many wonderful moments that shall forever remain precious to me. I loved her artwork-her paintings were beautiful, and I was especially fond of some of her driftwood pieces. I found her to be a quiet, yet very interesting person. She taught me a lot in the short time I was privileged to call her my friend. My family and I moved back to Georgia at the end of my junior year, but my heart has always remained in Caledonia, and my memories of this wonderful, precious lady have remained with me until this day. Praying for all of her family and friends during this time. I truly loved her!

Mrs. Betts was a very talented lovely person . We were so blessed by her work at the library and church .
