MaryAnn Scro Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jun. 3, 2024.
MaryAnn Scro (nee Kittle), 88, of Fort Myers, Florida went home to be with Jesus, her Lord and Savior, on Monday, April 22, 2024. She was born January 23, 1936, in Chicago, Illinois to the late Tony and Susan Kittle.

MaryAnn is survived by her loving husband of 69 years, Charles (Chuck) Scro; sons Chuck Scro (Diane) and Don Scro (Mary), daughter Maria Piszczor (Chas); grandchildren Kimberly Phipps (Truman) and Christine Scro; brothers Tony Kittle (Caryn), John Kittle (Mary), sisters Rosalie Kalata (Lee) and Cathy Criel; and many nieces and nephews. She was pre-deceased by her parents Tony and Susan Kittle, and her brother-in-law Don Criel.

MaryAnn enjoyed life, and never met a stranger. She and Chuck moved from Chicago to Florida to a 55-and-up condo community in 2002 and quickly made many good friends. They loved cruises and went on many with friends during their retirement years. MaryAnn served as President of their building's board and volunteered in a variety of other activities. She loved playing bingo, dominoes, and cards with her lady friends and with her family. Chuck and MaryAnn also volunteered at a local soup kitchen for several years.

What MaryAnn loved most was spending time with her family. She loved having everyone come down for Christmas and other holidays, and cooking special treats for them.

MaryAnn's strong faith shined through in all she did, and she regularly prayed for her family and friends' prayer requests. One of her daily prayers was that everyone she loved would have a saving relationship with Jesus so she would see them again in heaven.

When she could no longer be as physically active, prayer and time with Jesus sustained her, and through many health challenges she kept a good attitude. She stayed connected with her friends and family via FaceTime calls and having family come visit when they could. MaryAnn also joined a project at her church to knit blankets for preemies.

MaryAnn's love, positive attitude, and strength will be missed; she contributed so much to so many. We rejoice that she is dancing with Jesus, and that we'll see her again!
