MaryAnn Sullivan Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers from Nov. 9 to Nov. 17, 2022.
A longtime resident of Glen Osborne, PA, Marylou went home to her Creator on October 26, 2022. She passed away peacefully of heart failure in Lakeland, FL with family members by her side. Born in San Antonio, TX to the late John and Sophia (Meluch) Pavlik, Marylou was the beloved wife of 50 years to the late John "Jack" Sullivan; loving mother to Trish Sullivan Vansickle, Jack (Jennifer) Sullivan, Jim (Katie) Sullivan and MaryAnn (Dave) Sullivan Weigand; "Gunda" to her four grandchildren Lauren Vansickle Taylor, Courtney Vansickle (Stephen) Eveleth, Connor and Trevor Weigand and four great grandchildren Rowan, Delaney, Piper and Shaya; and loving sister to John (Toni) Pavlik, Theresa (John) Grenaldo, Veronica (the late Chris) Cuneo. In addition to her parents and husband, she joins her late sister (Bernadette Pavlik Steindl) and many loving family members who have gone before her. A devoted wife, mother and giving person, Marylou offered support to many over her lifetime; volunteering for her church and her children's school, helping friends learn to drive, delivering groceries, providing rides to appointments and opening her home to those in need of a helping hand. She was a precious servant of the Lord, a devoted Catholic, Eucharistic Minister and a Lector at St. James Church in Sewickley PA. She then regularly attended St. Anthony's Church while living in Lakeland, FL. She was honored to be the first female on Osborne Borough Council in the early 1970s where she ultimately served as Secretary and Public Works Supervisor for over 20 years. Among her many accomplishments was to introduce the recycling program to Osborne which is still in place today. Marylou's giving nature will be remembered by those who knew her and will always be cherished by her family. Her spirit now soars with calm winds beneath her wings. A Celebration Service will be held at St. James Church (Divine Redeemer Parish), 200 Walnut Street, Sewickley PA on Friday November 18th at 10:30 a.m. with a social immediately following in the St. James Hall until 1:00 p.m. The family requests any memorial gifts be given to the American Heart Association or Good Shepherd Hospice of Lakeland, FL.

My deepest sympathy to the entire family on the loss of their beloved Mother and "Gunda."
MaryLou brought joy into the lives of everyone she knew and loved. I will miss her very much.
She and her beloved Jack are now together. They are two angels in Heaven watching over all their loved ones.
I will miss those bi-weekly 2 1/2 hours telephone calls from her in Lakeland. We would catch up on our families, our health, politics, but most of all the laughter!!!
God bless you, Mary Lou
