Lorraine Hurst

Hurst, Lorraine Esther; age 86; of North Port, FL passed away peacefully on September 18, 2014. Lorraine was born on April 25, 1928 in Ishpeming, MI but spent most of her life in Milan, MI. She graduated from Milan High School, attended Indiana University, then raised her family in Milan. When she retired from Milan Screw Products she and her husband moved to North Port, FL. They continued to visit friends and family in the Milan area every summer for many years. Lorraine is preceded in death by her parents, her brother Norman Symons, her son Mark Schultz and her step-son Hollis “Hap” Hurst. Lorraine will be deeply missed by Hollis Hurst, her husband of 41 years, and her children and step-children: Thomas (Jane) Schultz, Jill (John) Meissner, Debbie Schultz, Tracy (Karen) Hurst, and Tina (Kevin) Davis. One of Lorraine’s favorite roles was that of “Grandmother”. She is survived by 15 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. She will be missed by her extended family and many friends. A celebration of Lorraine’s life will be held at the Peoples Presbyterian Church in Milan, MI on October 17, 2014 at 10 a.m. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. www.stjude.org
