Mathew Notte Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Mar. 13, 2025.
Mathew Notte, born March 12th, 1972, in South Amboy, New Jersey was sent to his eternal home on January 6th, 2025 in Anchorage, Alaska after a long battle with pancreatic cancer. He was the beloved husband of Misty Notte and son of Constantine "Dan" Notte and Vivian "Diane" Thomas Barker.

Mathew's journey on this earth was marked by love and compassion, and he will be missed by all that knew him. His passing has left a void in the hearts of his family, friends, and co-workers that had the privilege of knowing him.

Mathew moved from South Amboy, New Jersey to Cape Coral, Florida in his teenage years to live with his father. In the early 90's, he gained employment at Clancey's restaurant in Fort Myers, Florida where he met his future wife of 32 years, Misty Notte. They married on September 13th, 1992 and shared two sons together. In 1997 the family moved to Pensacola Florida for a change of scenery. Mathew worked in restaurants until the family moved to Toledo, Ohio in 1999 where he worked as a truck driver for one year. The family moved back to Florida and settled in Cape Coral in 2000. Mathew began his career in fire protection at this time. Mathew and Misty traveled to Alaska several times to visit his cousins and fell in love with the beauty of the Alaskan outdoors. They decided to move to Alaska in 2016. Mathew and Misty started their own company, Alaska Fire and Safety, in 2022.

Mathew enjoyed camping and fishing, and he and Misty would get out of the city as much as possible to enjoy what Alaska had to offer. In his free time, Mathew enjoyed talking to people all around the world on his ham radio. His call sign was WL4DX. Some of his closest Ham buddies lovingly called him WD40DX.

Because Mathew was a private person, he chose to have no memorial service. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be sent to Anchorage Amateur Radio Club Inc. PO Box 190192 Anchorage AK 99519 or you can look them up and make a donation by credit card or PayPal.

Mathew is survived by his loving wife Misty Notte, Stepmother Jean Notte, son Julian and wife Carmiel, son Kaleb , grandsons Noah, Lucas, Gabriel, and Isaiah , brother Constantine "Dean" and wife Sue , stepbrother David , and stepsister Jean and husband Bob Crenshaw. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews, great nieces, and nephews, and his beloved Labrador Jaxon. He was preceded in death by his mom in 2010, his dad in 2022 and his beloved Labrador Simba in 2015.

Although Mathew's physical presence may no longer grace our lives, his spirit will continue to lift and inspire us.

Misty and family, I am so sorry to hear of Mat´s passing. Worked together in the Fire Protection industry, he was an amazing coworker, hardworking employee and always had the laughs with a good sense of humor. He will be dearly missed by all.

To Misty and all the family my heart goes out to you for your loss Mat will be missed by all. We had many interesting and fun conversations over the airwaves on Ham radio, exchanging QSL cards and stories. As a silent key now Mat is a loss to all his radio friends around the world. Take care my friend and rest well. 73 de Tim VA7FT.
