MATTHEW ABATE Obituary
Of Finleyville, age 39; unexpectedly on Wednesday, June 30, 2010: Loving son of JoAnn & Norm Kaufman and Lance & Jill Abate; brother of Thomas Abate, Jayson Kaufman, and the late Brandon Abate; uncle of Colton Abate; grandson of Ernie Lansel; preceded recently in death by Grace Abate and other grandparents. He was loved by aunts, uncles, cousins and adoptive brothers and sisters. Friends will be received on Monday from 2 -4 and 7-9pm at the PAUL L. HENNEY MEMORIAL CHAPEL, 5570 Library Road, Bethel Park where funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 10 AM. Interment will follow at Queen of Heaven Cemetery. Matthew was a member of Local #3 Iron Workers Union and very musically talented in a variety of instruments.

Matt stayed at my house when we were kids. He tried to teach me how to play guitar. I really sucked at it but he was very patient. I fell out of touch as we often do with friends over the years. I only learned Matt left us yesterday at a party in New Eagle. I hope Matt's family will find peace on this anniversary. My wife and I send our love and hope the gift of this guest book reminds you all of the good times you had with Matt.
