Matthew "Matt" T. Anoa'i was born in San Francisco, CA and grew up in Pensacola, FL. On April 17, 2017 Matt passed away peacefully in his sleep.
He was a graduate of Escambia High School class of '88. Matt furthered his education at Mississippi Delta Community College and the University of Hawaii playing football for all three schools. He was passionate about football and was a lifelong "49er" fan. His passion turned to professional wrestling and he joined up with WWE performing under the ring name "Rosey". Matt loved being a wrestler, he loved his wrestling family and most of all the fans. But the biggest love in his life are his children.
He is survived by his children, Madison, Koa and Jordan; father, Leati Sika Anoa'i; mother, Patricia "Lisa" Anoa'i; four sisters, Vanessa Anoa'i, Summer Anoa'i, Sue Sherrin and Myritza Flowers; younger brother, Joe Anoa'i; and more cousins and friends than we can count.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 22, 2017 at Faith Chapel Funeral Home South with Pastor Wayne Butts officiating. Interment will follow services in Bayview Memorial Park Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Friday, April 21, 2017 at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Joe Anoa'i, Russ Scott, Sam Anoa'i, Christopher Castanon, Lloyd Anoa'i, Afa Anoa'I, Jr. and Steven Marc Chan.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to the charity that was closest to Matt's heart: Children's Tumor Foundation c/o Kelly Mills 16501 Ventura Blvd., Ste. 400, Encino, CA 91316 or donate online at Www.nfwalk.org/Seattle in the memory of Matthew T. Anoa'i.

I know he went to Escambia...and he graduated College.or left College around 1990. God Bless you Matt. You were taken too soon. You and your entire Family have made the biggest Difference in Professional Wrestling ANY Family has EVER made...and that includes the name McMahon as well. All you guys are pure studs, and make and made A LOT of people and families just WISH they'd made a difference in life that all the Anoa'is have made.. I, like most, met Matt during school. From the first day I encountered him until the last day of his short life he was the same man. Even when he was throwing me around on the practice field, afterward we joked about the beating..He was our guardian and true friend! I've met and served in the Army with several of the Samoan Dynasty. Each one left me with cherished memories! Matt cast a huge shadow and his love for friends and family can only be passed by his infectious smile! I am honoured that Matt called me friend! You will NEVER be forgotten!
