Matthew Dubovick Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Apr. 6, 2025.

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Matthew Dubovick, who left us peacefully on April 1, 2025, at the age of 55. Matt was a man of extraordinary kindness, a generous soul whose warmth and compassion touched everyone he met. He had a remarkable ability to bring joy into the lives of those around him, especially through his dedication to volunteering, including his many years as the DJ at events benefiting the National MS Society.

Matt's passions were as wide-ranging as his heart. A true lover of music, he had a special place in his heart for Metallica, attending 27 of their concerts. Whether it was relaxing in his favorite recliner, indulging in a BBQ, or enjoying a round of golf, Matt found comfort and joy in life's simple pleasures. He was also a devoted fan of his beloved New York Yankees, New York Jets, and Baltimore Ravens, always sharing his enthusiasm and love for sports with those around him.

Above all, Matt's greatest devotion was to his family. He is survived by his loving mother, Victoria Dubovick of The Villages, FL; his cherished son, Derek Andrew Dubovick of Salisbury, MD; and his fiance, the love of his life, Sharon Livingstone of Magnolia, DE. He also leaves behind his stepchildren, Austin and Margaret Livingstone.

A celebration of Matt's life will be held at a later date, where family and friends will have the opportunity to gather and share memories of this extraordinary man.

Matt's legacy of selflessness and generosity will live on in the hearts of all who knew him. His warmth, kindness, and unwavering commitment to making the world a better place will never be forgotten. As an organ donor, Matt's spirit will continue to touch lives in ways words cannot describe. He will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

We're old friends of Derek's, we went to youth group and a few camps together. We never really knew his dad or his family, but We're so sorry to hear about this. If you're ever in the area, bring Derek back to youth group. We miss him.

I learned of Matthew´s passing last night. Although I have not seen him and his mom, my cousin Vicki, in many years, I was so saddened to hear this news. I enjoyed playing with him when our families at visits to each other´s house growing up and at family gatherings. I believe Matthew has joined so many others who have passed before him - his dad, my dad, my mom, my brother and my son. I pray they are talking sports, dancing and making music together reunited in better place.

To My Dear Friend Matt,
My heart is broken and sad.
We were Best Friends for many, many years. But like I always told you, you were not only my Best Friend, you were like a Brother to me. You were always there for me when I needed you and I could always count on you....I could never thank you enough for that and I'll never forget that. We shared so many wonderful years together filled with good times, laughs, and countless, priceless memories.....the roller skating rink, fishing, playing tennis, your Prom, going out to listen to Miriam's band play, commuting home from Manhattan, or just simply hanging out. Those are memories that are very dear to me....I will always cherish them, they will always make me smile, and they will stay with me forever. Our friendship was very special, one you don't come across often, once in a lifetime....I am very blessed to have had you in my life. People might lose touch with one another over the years but you never lose what's in your heart. You will always have that special place in my heart Matt. I love you my friend. Until we meet again.....Rest in Peace.

I had the pleasure of working with Matt at Dentsply. Over the years, I thought of him as a mentor and was very grateful for his vast systems and finance knowledge. His Teams calls were always light-hearted and comical with interruptions from his cats or his love for vacuuming. This developed into a friendship that will be deeply missed. We shared stories about our sons, his love for the time visiting with his mom in Florida, and his deep love for his fiancé. He always had great stories to share from the golf course and how proud he was of his custom golf balls with his infamous beard pic on them. Truly going to miss you, buddy. Love and prayers to your entire family.

To a great guy,
Matt always was ready to help no matter what kind of request he got. I am thankful for knowing him and will remember all the times he provided music at all the events we had at Dentsply. I can´t really say that I ever remember him being mad or even upset he had a great way of letting things that would bother most people just roll off his back. I know that it must be hard on his family only they know the loss they are suffering. I hope they can find some kind of comfort in knowing they were blessed to have him in their life. I know that I am blessed to know him and was always impressed with his work ethic and calmness.
God Bless you Matt

I´m deeply saddened to hear about Matt. I can´t express enough how much his support, both professionally and personally, meant to me. He was not only an incredible coworker who helped me navigate tough projects and finance matters, but also a true friend who made each day at work better. He always knew how to balance a serious conversation with light-hearted chats, and those moments are what I will treasure most.

You´ll be missed every day, but I will hold on to the memories of all the kindness and wisdom you shared with me. My thoughts are with you and your family during this incredibly difficult time.

My heart truly breaks here. Matt was such a ray of sunshine at work and always had a positive attitude when we connected. I was so proud of him for his recent promotion, and I told him I wished there were more Matty D´s around! The truth is, he was one of a kind, and we will really miss him - as a coworker, a friend, a DJ, a confidant, and a great human being. Prayers to Sharon, his son, and all family and friends who are grieving this immeasurable loss. Rest easy, my friend.

I had the great pleasure of working with Matt at ILC and also at Dentsply. He always told me how excited he was when he saw me interview at Dentsply because of how great we got along at ILC. Somehow he and I always had to work on costing , routes, or some other ERP conversion situation. He also was very brave and let me MC our company events without any hesitation of giving me the mic. He was the best and I´m happy I spent time with him just the day before. I will miss you Matty D.

Matt was a great man. Happy, down to earth, and loved life. We all have our talents....I´m not a smart guy, but would lean on Matt often.....Excel, numbers, and spreadsheets were childs play for him. Fast, smart, and dedicated are the words I would use to describe him. To work, to his friends, and to the love of his life Sharon......you will be deeply missed brother. You are the perfect example of a good man

My condolences to Matt´s family and friends. I use to work with Matt at Unapix Entertainment. He was a great guy - always with a big smile and extremely helpful. Matt showed me the ropes and explained the environment. He had a great laugh and had tons of energy. He will be missed. I was lucky to have known such a wonderful human being. Rest in Peace Matt!

My prayers are with each and every one of you. Especially the kids, as I know too well the heartbreak of losing a parent.
I met Matt through playing yahtzee and being a part of that loving family. He was an awesome person and I'm grateful to have been able to virtually meet him and call him friend. He will be missed.

I have worked with Matt since he started at Dentsply Caulk. It's been quite a few years. I always looked forward to him joining us outside in the break area. If you were having a bad day at work he was always willing to share his outlook and give you a suggestion to look at it from another angle and brighten your day. He always had a smile and a funny story to share. He was definitely one of a kind and will be sadly missed by all. To his family please know he loved you all more than life and spoke very highly of all of you. Sending hugs and prayers to you all.
