Dear Gulino Family,
I was a classmate of Matt's at St. Paul and Kennedy HS. I am very saddened to hear of Matt's passing. I will always remember Matt as a peacemaker. Matt had a great ability to calm people down, and bring a positive perspective to any situation. I haven't seen Matt in years, but still feel a loss because I know the world has lost a great person.

Dear Aunt Kay, Joanne, Nick, Sara, Katie, Micheal, Paris and family.

There isn't much that I can say that hasn't been brought up. I am deeply saddened by your loss. It is a shame that we lost contact over the years. Matthew had that Gulino personalty that I would have loved to share.I still remember when I was young and it would be exiting to know that we were going to visit Uncle Louie and Aunt Kay on the southside with my father. It's amazing that we are all White Sox Fans; the underdogs. Where did that start? Maybe we can get together sometime with our families to share some memories. I have some old pictues that my mother put together and want to see if I can find something interesting. Life is too short and it gets away fast.

Love Always,

Jim, Donna and Nicole Gulino

Dear Gulino Family,

I was a classmate of Matt's at St. Paul/Kennedy High School. Even at the age of 15 you could tell the type of man Matt would end up being. He had a genuine, sweet personality, and was well liked by many.

I am so sorry for your family's loss.

Dear Aunt Kay, Joanne, Nick, Sara, Katie, Michael, Paris and family

Marian and I just returned from Italy this morning. We are shocked, saddened and astonished at your loss. As you know Matt was and is my God-son. I loved him deeply. I know Uncle Louie would have been so proud of both of his sons. They were and are such good people. I just finished reading the Guest Book and I must say, I'm not suprised at the comments about Matt. He had an aura about him that was genuine, sincere, caring, loving, gentle yet strong. I will miss him the rest of my life. Our sincere condolances to the entire family for their loss.

Dear Joanne, Nick, Sara and Katie,
I am completely devasted and at a loss for words. Matt was truly one of my best friends and my most loyal customer. He was always caring and very concerned after my medical problems. Matt always made me laugh and feel good, and made a bad day turn good. For this reason, I will always have a picture of Matt in my shop to look at whenever I get in that grumpy mood! I only just found out with the story in the Sun-Times Tuesday. I am so sorry that I missed his funeral. God Bless you all.
Chuck's Barber Shop will miss you Matt.

To my dearest family, some things I'd like to say...
but first of all, to let you know, that I arrived okay.
I'm writing this from heaven. Here I dwell with God above.
Here, there's no more tears of sadness; here is just eternal love.

Please do not be unhappy just because I'm out of sight.
Remember that I'm with you every morning, noon and night.
That day I had to leave you when my life on earth was through,
God picked me up and hugged me and He said, "I welcome you."

It's good to have you back again; you were missed while you were gone.
As for your dearest family, they'll be here later on.
I need you here badly; you're part of my plan.
There's so much that we have to do, to help our mortal man.

God gave me a list of things, that he wished for me to do.
And foremost on the list, was to watch and care for you.
And when you lie in bed at night, the day's chores put to flight.
God and I are closest to you....in the middle of the night.

When you think of my life on earth, and all those loving years
because you are only human, they are bound to bring you tears.
But do not be afraid to cry; it does relieve the pain.
Remember there would be no flowers, unless there was some rain.

I wish that I could tell you all that God has planned.
But if I were to tell you, you wouldn't understand.
But one thing is for certain, though my life on earth is o'er.
I'm closer to you now, than I ever was before.

There are many rocky roads ahead of you and many hills to climb;
but together we can do it by taking one day at a time.
It was always my philosophy and I'd like it for you too...
that as you give unto the world, the world will give to you.

If you can help somebody who's in sorrow and pain,
then you can say to God at night......"My day was not in vain."
And now I am contented....that my life has been worthwhile,
knowing as I passed along the way, I made somebody smile.

So if you meet somebody who is sad and feeling low,
just lend a hand to pick him up, as on your way you go.
When you're walking down the street, and you've got me on your mind;
I'm walking in your footsteps only half a step behind.

And when it's time for you to go.... from that body to be free,
remember you're not going.....you're coming here to me.

To the Gulino Family:

My deepest sympathy and prayers go to all of you. Mr. Gulino was a wondeful man. I recall pushing the double stroller down the street and he would stop us and say "hey guys, How s it going" always with a bright smile.
I had not seen Mr. Gulino for about three years but can picture him as we sat together on the school board together or talked on Massasoit. The world needs more "Matt Gulino's". Take care and may God bless you in this tough time.

Joanne, Nick, Katie and Sara,
From the first day we met, I knew Matthew was truly, one of the finest men I'll ever meet and I will miss him dearly..... We had many talks over the years about business strategy, of how to take care of our customers and how to keep the principles of our business world satisfied,.... but the talks I so look forward to, was when we'd talk about our kids and family. He was so proud of how Nick, Katie and Sara turned out, their plans for the future and how "grounded" you kept the whole family. Matt just "lit-up" when he talked about you guys.
His positive attitude was contagious. I could be having some of my worst days and his "brand" of encouragement always let me know, "it'll work out"... ** Matt really did care for the next guy and it'll be a very long time before I have someone like Matt to talk to again.
Our prayers are with you guys and please let us know, if there's anything you need.
