Matthew “Matty” passed away on June 26, 2023 in Salt Lake City, Utah. He was born Feb 17, 1987 to Matthew and Lori Millward Lawrence in Salt Lake City, Utah. Matt met and married the love of his life and soulmate, Madison Presley Bybee on April 7, 2018. They have been blessed with three beautiful sons: Mickey (4), Sonny (20M), and Hardy (8M). He was so proud of his wife and boys.
Matt was born and raised in Grantsville, UT and graduated from Grantsville High in 2005. He attended SUU in Cedar City with his cousin Tony Gates.
Matt loved his family more than anything. He had a love for guns, duck hunting with his dog Milo, summer vacations in Bainbridge with the Gates Family, camping with his family, collecting Nike’s, inviting his family over to watch UFC fights, taking his family to Disneyland, giving gifts to his wife and boys, and browsing the local pawn shops.
He also loved being a leader and creating opportunities for others. Matt loved leading by example and challenging others to reach their full potential. He worked for a tech company in his late 20s and travelled all over the country. He left an amazing impact on those he worked with throughout the years. He took a lot of pride in being a business owner and entrepreneur in his 30s.
His favorite role was being a father and a husband. He took pride in his boys and looked forward to teaching them everything he knew about guns, Boy Scouts, and being self-sufficient. He was so excited to raise his boys to be strong, respectful, and tender men with the help of his wife. Matt loved his wife Madi dearly and was able to create an amazing life with her by his side. She was his one true love and she brought out the best in him.
Matt made everyone feel welcomed and important. He could talk to anyone and made a friend anywhere he went. He was outgoing, personable, caring, thoughtful, and could always make people laugh no matter the circumstance.
He is survived by his sweet wife, Madison, his three boys, daughter Lola, and his companion Milo- his Labrador retriever. Father Matthew and mother Lori, sisters Carly (Jay) Palmer, Loni Platt, Gentri (Heber) Green. He is also survived by his in-laws, Stacey (Tim) Delamare, Steve Bybee, sister-in-laws McKennah Bybee and Morgen Bybee. He is proceeded in death by his brother-in-law Steven Lee Platt.
