Matthew John Loftus, 56, of Cedar Rapids Iowa, passed away on Tuesday April 11, 2023 at Iowa City Rehab and Healthcare Center. Matthew was born in Santa Rosa California, the son of Mary Ann Loftus and John Douglas Loftus, on October 10, 1966. No end of life preparations have been planned at this time.

Matthew graduated from Kennedy High School in Cedar Rapids Iowa in 1985. He married Wendy Jean (Danielson) Kohl (Tod) in Cedar Rapids on September 21, 1991. They had two beautiful daughters together, Koryssa Ann (Loftus) Weeks (Dalton) and Alexandria Lee Loftus. They were later divorced but kept in close contact.

He leaves behind his brother Michael Ward Loftus, his daughter Alexandria Lee Loftus, and his granddaughter Rhyan Elaine Weeks. He was preceded in death by his mother Mary Ann Loftus, his father John Douglas Loftus, his brother Mark Loftus, and his daughter Koryssa Ann Loftus.

Matt, may you Rest in Peace. We had some good times when we were kids. I used to call him, Matt Chu, Chu. like a train. Love you Cuz. Till we meet again. My prayers and blessings to all.

I met Matt in Junior high and we didn't stay in touch but I'll always remember Matt as being one of the nicest guys. My thoughts and prayers are with his daughters and Mike,& family, I'm so sorry for your loss.
