Matthew Michael Rausch

Matthew Michael Rausch, 44, died on June 15, 2023, in Burke, Virginia. Matthew was born on July 31, 1978 in Omaha, Nebraska.

Matthew had a deep passion for music, poetry, and history. His first love was music. He played the guitar and trumpet and appreciated all genres. Music was the rock he always returned to for peace.

Matthew's love for poetry was evident in his prolific writings, where he expressed his thoughts on life's trials and tribulations. He was also a self-taught artist, creating many unique works that held great value and meaning to him.

As a devoted student of history, particularly military history, Matthew was often engrossed in analyzing and predicting current military and world situations. His knowledge and insights were remarkable. He also had many eclectic interests ranging from collecting rocks to solar phenomena. He was also a proud part owner of the Green Bay Packers.

Following high school, Matthew pursued higher education at Northern Virginia Community College. His learning was in many cases self-taught while pursing his diverse interests. He held a number of positions in retail in the Northern Virginia area.

Matthew's core essence was that of a kind and generous man. He was a giver always ready to lend a helping hand, and his absence is felt deeply by those who knew and loved him.

Matthew is survived by his father, John, and his brother, JC. He was preceded in death by his mother, Garda Holmstrom Rausch.

We will forever cherish the memories shared with Matthew and the impact he had on our lives. May his gentle soul rest in eternal peace.
