RENAGHAN, Matthew Paul Born July 6, 1946, in Lynn, MA, passed away peacefully on January 14, 2024, at Avow Hospice in Naples, FL, due to complications of medical conditions. Predeceased by his parents, Gladys (Loring) and Albert Renaghan of Duxbury; he leaves his loving wife of 42 years, Denise (Krol) Renaghan; his sister, Maureen Ziko and late husband, Peter of Duxbury; his brother, Peter Renaghan and wife, Betsy of Falmouth; his brother-in law, David Krol and wife, Janet of Norwood; his sister-in-law, Joanne Baker and husband, Danny of Lakeville; brother-in-law, Joseph Krol (deceased) and wife, Laureen of East Sandwich; Donna Krol of Canton; Debra Barrett and husband, John Barrett (deceased) of Wrentham; Linda McCarthy and husband, Harold of Tewksbury. He is survived by many cousins, nieces, nephews, grand nieces, grand nephews and many close friends. "Uncle Mat" is fondly remembered for his fun-loving and generous spirit. His sense of humor was forever present and brought a smile to your lips and a twinkle to his eye. He attended Lynn Classical, graduated Duxbury High School, proudly served in the U.S. Air Force, earned his Bachelor Degree in Hotel and Restaurant Management from UMass Amherst. He was a banquet chef at the Sheraton Boston, embarked on a great career and friendships at Howard Johnson Company, commenced his entrepreneurships with Matt Garrett's Restaurants, Lightships Boston, Sports Depot Allston and Captain Fishbones Quincy. He dedicated himself to the restaurant business, building out facilities, creating concepts and menus, perfecting recipes and processes in order to provide consistency and quality to his patrons, always training and mentoring his team to ensure their successes with simple and common sense technique. His restaurant "family" ebbed and flowed like the tide and he was grateful for all the relationships over the years from Boston to Brazil to Haiti and back with the culmination of his career at Marina Bay bringing him back to his passion for boating and spending time with family and friends on the docks in MA, RI and FL. He enjoyed all his friends in Florida, new and old, loved all the culinary experiences, boating, riding his bike, the warm weather and especially, no snow! Services arranged by Fuller East Funeral Home, www.Fullereast.com will be held on Saturday, February 17, 2024, at 11AM, St. Finbarr Church, 13520 Tamiami Trail, East Naples, FL. A Memorial Celebration will be held on July 6, 2024 in Massachusetts. In lieu of flowers, a donation can be made to Archdiocese for the Military Services, USA , www.milarch.org in memory of Sgt Matthew P. Renaghan, U.S. Air Force.

Learning of Matt passing created an instant heavy heart. Soon as I met Matt he had my instant respect. The way he treated his friends and employees, made me want to be like him.
Working at Lightships Started my relationship with Matt, Organizing boats on the dock system then working the bar on my days off of the Coast Guard.
Truly cherish the times With Matt & Denise and experience running the "Night Moves". Matt always Seem to surround himself with good people, and I met some great friends in Matt´s wake. "Fair winds and following seas my friend"
Love you Denise.
