I think of you everyday my friendand still can't believe your gone. It breaks my heart and leaves an ever present lump in my throat knowing that we will never have the pleasure to be in your uplifting and entertaining company again.
I send my deepest condolences to Matty's family, and pray that you cherish in the fantastic memories of your sweet Matty. He touched the hearts and lives of everyone who ever had the pleasure of meeting him.
You'll never be forgotten my bud. xx

Sending out big hugs to all my old mates from Deep Cove who knew Matt back in the day as the tall smiley one with nicknames for everyone. He was such an awesome guy - it sucks to learn that he was struggling on the inside. I hope in some way that his passing might prompt others in the same situation to reach out. There's a lot of love out there, no matter how far apart and busy we all seem to get. All those memories are safe and lasting. I'll smile when I think of you Matt. I didn't really know Matt was struggling so much with depression. Although I am an older cousin from the east coast, I only crossed paths with him 4-5 times in my lifetime, but the last time I am comforted that he was surrounded by his extended family and enjoying all the attention that he deserved on his 37th birthday on our "Life of Riley"family cruise in 2007. He was King of the cruise ship that day and we will all miss him and his gentle ways and easy smile.

Just heard of Matt passing. I would see him on set from time to time. Although we all grow apart as we grow older, I will always cherish the time we spent together as kids. I Wouldn't trade it for anything. RIP Matty

Half a world away, I am saddened to learn that one of my very close childhood friends Matt Riley is no longer with us. Although Jug and I hadn't had much contact over the past years, our times growing up together during school and into early adulthood will be a part of my life that I will treasure and always hold dear. My heart goes out to Sean and Marilyn.....you guys treated me like family when growing up. I am so very sorry for your loss. I'll miss ya heaps brother! A beer and a tear tonight in honour of you my friend...Jug. May you Rest in Peace. Mates always...Squid.

Condolences to each of Matt's circle of family and friends. A lighted candle will remind me of who he was.

Sincere condolences to the Riley family. I was so sad to hear that Jug had left us so early. Both the Riley brothers were so kind to me when I was the " younger" kid hanging out with them. I still laugh about the band me and Matt were in in high school. Of course jug came up with the name " The Cracks". He was an awesome drummer. We went in different directions in later years but every time we got together we laughed like we saw each other yesterday. If only he knew how loved and admired he was. I'm going to miss him a great deal.
To the Riley family, I hope the time comes soon when the shock and unbelievable grief diminishes and all that is left are the cherished memories of this wonderful person.
