Matthew Robotham

Matthew ("Matt") Robotham, 38, passed away on July 4th, 2021 surrounded by his family. A person who served his country in many ways, Matt lived, worked, and played music in the greater DC area. He grew up in Belmont, MA, graduating from Belmont High School in 2001. Those who knew Matt were impressed by his talent and passion for classical music. He earned a masters degree in Classical Percussion at Indiana University in Bloomington and served as a dedicated member of the 257th US Army "Band of the Nations Capital" from 2010-2016. A lifelong advocate of musical education, Matt cultivated a musical repertoire that transcends generations. He is survived by his parents, John and Suzanne Robotham; his two sisters, Laura and Mariellen Robotham; his fianc, Bert Solis; and his beloved dog, Max. A funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, August 4rd at 11:00am in St. Brigid Church in Lexington, MA. A memorial concert will also take place in the Washington D.C. area at Harris Pavilion in Manassas, Virginia on Sunday, August 15th at 2:00pm.
