Matt was by far our most kindest and gentlest sibling. I am so thankful I was able to come visit this past Thanksgiving and that he got to meet Finn. I'm so grateful for those last few days together in November, one of my favorite memories will always be Matt taking the time to build the race car toy for Finn. It's so special that he took the time to do that so Finn would have a toy to play with and and just small example of how thoughtful and caring he was. He was such a loving, sweet, and amazing brother. Please take care of Ty for me and say hello to my Dad. I will love you and miss you always.

My condolences on your tragic loss of Matt. Matt impressed me with his kind and cheery voice, no matter how early the hour, at the Rochester Starbucks drive thru. Always put a smile on my face. Who we are and how we treat each other is what really matters above all and Matt exemplified this -

Sweet Matthew, I will always remember your kindness and gentleness at the Dover Starbucks. When you moved to the Rochester store, it was always a treat to see you when I was in the neighborhood. Clearly God needed a bright and beautiful angel, but you are gone too soon. Sending love and prayers to your family.

The kindest guy ever. He took my order many times and it was always a pleasure to see him.
Matt’s natural kindness was the sort that could turn your bad day good.
His life serves as a reminder that our interactions with people passing briefly through our lives matter, including those through a couple of windows. I will miss him and my heart goes out to his family, friends, and coworkers. May his memory be a blessing.

Matthew was always there for me when no one else was. He was a sweet kindhearted man. He could always make my day even on bad days. Matthew wasn't only my fiancé He was also my soulmate. Matthew was such a caring man who loved helping others in need. He was a hardworking and thoughtful man. He would always put others before he would put himself. I'm so glad that Matthew and I met. He will forever and always be in my heart. His mother Patricia and his father Scott raised such an amazing man. I will forever be grateful for them both for raising such an amazing son like Matthew. I will always cherish the moments that we all have made together with him. Matthew will never be forgotten.

Dear Pat, Scott, Hayley and family, Words cannot express my shock and sorrow upon learning of dear Matt’s tragic passing. I remember meeting Matt and his parents in Eagles Rest when he and my Isabelle were babies. Over the years we would see each other at school functions or when I was a substitute teacher for Alton Central School. In recent years Matt was one of my beloved PMHS students. He was a joy to work with, always respectful, kind, caring of others, helpful and worked hard to graduate. I can only imagine your devastation as I am heartbroken for him and all of you, he had so much life to live ahead of him. I can only offer my deepest condolences, prayers and knowledge that he will be greatly missed and never forgotten. I am hoping to go to his services in the Spring. God Bless all of you in your enormous grief with love, peace and comfort.

I am so sad to see this. Matt was on the window a lot when I went to Starbucks over the few years. Some days he was a man of few words; others he engaged with you more in conversation and got to know you. He will be missed.
Praying for Matt's family and his Starbucks family during this difficult time.
