Matthew Schreckengaust Obituary
Age 9, of Canton died Friday, June 21, 2013 in Aultman Hospital. He was born Aug. 2, 2003 in Canton to Teddy Schreckengaust of Kensington and Rosa Royal of Canton. This Fall he would have been in the 4th grade at Garfield Academy in Canton. He loved baseball and played on the R&L Auto Service baseball team in Carrollton.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by four sisters and a brother, Cloey Schreckengaust and Kamerie Barringer of Canton, Kylee Schreckengaust, Alexa Walker and Adam Walker of Kensington; maternal grandparents, Crystal and Mark Lambert of Dellroy; paternal grandparents, Stephen Lucas of Carrollton and Twila 'T.J.' Lucas (and Larry Cross) of Carrollton; paternal great-grandparents, Jim and Twila Foster of Carrollton.
Funeral services will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. in the Gotschall-Hutchison Funeral Home in Minerva with Pastor Barry Carter officiating. Burial will be in Moultrie Chapel Cemetery. Calling hours will be Tuesday 6-8 p.m. in the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the family to help with expenses. Those wishing to send condolences may sign the online register at

Rosa and Teddy I am glad I had the pleasure of knowing matthew as a neighbor, R&L team mate of my son as well as a friend to my son. From my own personal experience I know that there are no words that can be expressed to make this tradgedy any easier just know that we are thinking about you all. Matthew was a very sweet and happy little boy. My family has you heavily on our minds.

Just heard the awful news today (6/25). I am so sorry for your loss and in such a traumatic and sudden way. God bless you all in this time. May he wrap his loving arms around all of you. I remember little Matthew coming into the office very high on life and was a fun little guy!

Rosa and family I'm very sorry to hear this my heart was very sadden..even though I havent seen him since he was younger I can picture it like yesterday walking by your house In carrollton and see him playing in the front yard. He was also in headstart with my son and I got to know Matthew. Rosa as a mother to a mother my heart is hurting for u. I could not even imagine so girl and your family my prayers are being sent.
