Matthew John Stankus

Dear Stankus Family,

My deepest sympathy goes to your family at this time of loss. I got to know Matt when my three grandchildren attended Morse Elementary School. My gradndaughter, Haley, so enjoyed being in his reading class in third grade-I loved to hear all his stories and great jokes. Haley always repeated his many stories about his boys. He will be missed. I will keep your family in my thoughts and prayers.

Mr.Stankus was my reading teacher in 3rd grade. He was a great teacher, he was always smiling and happy. I will always remember his sense of humor. He will be missed. I will keep you in my prayers Stankus family.

Dear Vivi and Family,

Please know we have been praying for you all these many months since we heard of Matt's condition while we were staying with Jim & Ingrid. We have so many wonderful memories from our youth at your parents house. Your wedding pictures are dispayed proudly in one of our photo albums with all our friends from high school. Your family means so much to us and hearing of your loss hurts my heart. I know The Lord of all comfort and your family will be a source of strength to you. We love you and you will continue to be in our prayers.

Viviana and family,

May the God of all comfort hold you in His arms and be your strength. I have such clear memories of Matt's passion, his energy and his contagious desire to learn. Know thay you are in our prayers.

Mr. Stankus was a cool teacher. I had Mr. Stankus for reading but I really liked to talk to him about sports. He knew all the stats (but not as well as me)or so I remember.

We had interesting conversations whenever we ran into each other on the school grounds, often not even relating to school. My deepest sympathy goes out to you at this time. I knew Matt at Morse Elementary while my kids attended there. He added a fun spirit to the school. The students loved him. I remember how excited the kids were to discuss a professional game with him. Matt was the big star in the Wacko games against the sixth graders. When I was part of a mom's prayer group for Morse, Matt was the first to share his support for the group. He would give us a few prayer request to pray for his students.

As a parent of three kids that attended Morse I worked with Matt and talked to him often. What a priveledge it was to know him. May God give you strength during this time.

I had Mr. Stankus as my 3rd grade teacher at Morse Elementary and he was one of my favorite teachers my 6 years of Morse. He was very kind and I learned alot that year. You have my deepest sympathy. I knew Matt while my kids attended Morse Elementary. I have special memories of his fun spirit on the campus. The kids loved to talk to him about sports, especially after a big game. He was our star Wacko player against the sixth graders. When I was a part of a parent prayer group for Morse, he was the first to come up and give us his support. He shared a few prayer requests for his class, always for a certain student. Vivi and boys, I am so sorry to hear of Matt's passing. I can only imagine the sorrow you are experiencing. I am sending my prayers your way.

He was always such a pleasure to talk with - what an upbeat man he was. Take comfort that he is in a better place than we are now and completely at peace. He deserves that.

From all of his extended family in Massachusetts, I would like to say that we will all miss Matt. We only saw him occasionally after he moved to California but his good sense of humor and kindness will always be remembered. Our thoughts and prayers go out to his family.

To the family of Matt,

I was so saddened to hear yesterday that Matt had passed away. My heart goes out to your family. I'm comforted in knowing that Matt knew where he was going when he left his Earthly body. May you find comfort in the fact that he is now in the presence of the Lord and that he will be looking down from heaven, keeping an eye on things going on in your family. I will always remember the time I made Matt dress up as the Cowardly Lion becuase our whole third grade team dressed up as the characters in the Wizard of Oz. Dear Viviana and family,

Our hearts were broken when we heard of Matt's passing. I will always remember his warm smile and talks about his great family on the playground. I covered his class one day and saw the many verses he had posted on his desk- a testimony to a man of faith.
