(The 240th could not have Rocked without you brother]May the lord keep and comfort your family during this period.

Steve, I can't believe you had to leave this world so soon. It has been years since we last run into each other at Ft Hood. We had some exciting times in Germany. You were so crazy and fun to be around. While typing this, I know you remember the times we would go get those delicious German sandwiches for breakfast and your car stalled one time; you tried to teach me how to pop a clutch :-). See you in Heaven my brother. May the Lord comfort your family and friends.

To Dee Dee and the Stevenson's family. Im deeply sorry for your lost. Steve was a brother and a friend to me. I only called him brother. We are in Ft.Sill together me,Steve,Coleman,Heavy,Tamera Baker, Dj Tony, Celica,Frank were best friends and like brothers and sisters. We was always together cooking, hanging out everyday constantly. My parents cared deeply for Steve. Then we meet his sisters when they came to Lawton. I cant express what I feel for the lost of brother that's why it took me so long to write. Once I had my second son Nicholas Severado on June 7 1997 Steve had to be in the room he told the doctor that's my sister and Im not leaving. My children grew very fond of him and called him Uncle Steve. If he ate you ate. After all those years he got out of the military. We kept in touch and then God took all of us to Ft. Hood ,Texas once again we all became family. If you would like to contact me feel free to do so. Especially I'm looking for my friend Tamera. Near shady wall rose once grew, Budded and blossomed in God's free light, Watered and fed by morning dew, Shedding its sweetness day and night,As it grew and blossomed fair and tall, Slowly rising to loftier height, It came to a crevice in the wall Through which there shone a beam of light. Onward it crept with added strength with never a thought of fear or pride, It followed the light through the crevice's length and unfold itself on the other side. The light, the dew, the broadening view. Were found the same as they were before, and it lost itself in beauties new, Breathing its fragrance more and more. Shall claim of death cause us to grieve and make our courage faint and fall? Nay! Let us faith and hope receive The rose still grows beyond the wall, scattering fragrance far and wide just as it did in days of yore, just as it did on the other side, Just as it will forevermore. With Sincere Sympathy.

To DeeDee, the Stevenson and the Franklin families. My deepest sympathies and condolences too you all. I was honored to attend the beautiful ceremony today. The Aurora/Chicago community as well as Steves Military family poured out to show their love and respect and I was deeply moved by it all. Steve was a good friend and we shared many laughs together, whether behind a desk, or in a bunker in Baghdad.. He's looking down on me right now telling me to "man-up". God bless you all !

He will truly be missed, he was a person that could make anyone laugh regardless of the situation. You never knew when he was going through anything because he always had a pleasant smile on his face. My prayers go out to his wife and family and to let them know that they now have an guardian angel watching over them.

SFC Stevenson, "Steve" as we called him, will be missed greatly. He had a personality that not even gravity could control. People were drawn to him, as was I. There was never a day that I saw him without a smile on his face. I will celebrate his life as he lived his, to the fullest. My deepest condolences to his family.

To my dearest family, some things I'd like to say...
but first of all, to let you know, that I arrived okay.
I'm writing this from heaven. Here I dwell with God above.
Here, there's no more tears of sadness; here is just eternal love.

Please do not be unhappy just because I'm out of sight.
Remember that I'm with you every morning, noon and night.
That day I had to leave you when my life on earth was through,
God picked me up and hugged me and He said, "I welcome you."

It's good to have you back again; you were missed while you were gone.
As for your dearest family, they'll be here later on.
I need you here badly; you're part of my plan.
There's so much that we have to do, to help our mortal man.

God gave me a list of things, that he wished for me to do.
And foremost on the list, was to watch and care for you.
And when you lie in bed at night, the day's chores put to flight.
God and I are closest to you....in the middle of the night.

When you think of my life on earth, and all those loving years
because you are only human, they are bound to bring you tears.
But do not be afraid to cry; it does relieve the pain.
Remember there would be no flowers, unless there was some rain.

I wish that I could tell you all that God has planned.
But if I were to tell you, you wouldn't understand.
But one thing is for certain, though my life on earth is o'er.
I'm closer to you now, than I ever was before.

There are many rocky roads ahead of you and many hills to climb;
but together we can do it by taking one day at a time.
It was always my philosophy and I'd like it for you too...
that as you give unto the world, the world will give to you.

If you can help somebody who's in sorrow and pain,
then you can say to God at night......"My day was not in vain."
And now I am contented....that my life has been worthwhile,
knowing as I passed along the way, I made somebody smile.

So if you meet somebody who is sad and feeling low,
just lend a hand to pick him up, as on your way you go.
When you're walking down the street, and you've got me on your mind;
I'm walking in your footsteps only half a step behind.

And when it's time for you to go.... from that body to be free,
remember you're not going.....you're coming here to me.

To Dee and the entire Stevenson family, a lost of a love one can be one of the hardest challanges in life, but if you look to the hills in Jesus word, you would find peace. We celebrate Steve's life and the time he shared with all of us on earth. I truely would miss him as a Soldier, but most of all as my trustee old friend. We shared a lot of good times in the military and we also shared some bad, but through it all, Steve always was there and had the answer. Dee stay strong and know that myself and Chelly prayers are with you always. Gone but not forgotten. Terence and Chelly Jackson, Balad, Iraq and Columbia, South Carolina.
