We lost our beloved Mathew this week at Cape Cod Hospital as a result of complications related to a car accident last Saturday. Mathew is survived by his mother Kimberly, Step Father Tim, Brother Christopher and Sister Kelley all of Brewster, and his Father Douglas Warren of Dennis, MA. Mathew is also survived by a very large extended family.
The outpouring of love and emotion has been overwhelming to his family as Mathew touched so many lives in so many ways. Young or old everyone knew who Mathew Warren was and what an incredible gift of love, happiness and energy he had.
Mathew was born at Cape Cod Hospital and lived in Brewster his entire life. He attended the Nauset School district schools and was a graduate of Nauset High School in 2008 where he played football and was active in many school related activities. Matt made hundreds of friends and touched so many of the faculty in an incredible way. He attended Westfield State College until he left in 2009 to pursue a different life path. Matt had recently enrolled and been accepted to the Massachusetts School of Barbering in Boston and was planning on attending in the fall. Matt's future was really starting to come together, something he always wanted.
Mathew was a great athlete and a sports aficionado. His free time was always spent following all New England sports teams especially the Red Sox. Anyone who knew Mathew knew that he had the gift of knowing pretty much any sports statistic at any time. He collected movies and loved his video games.
Mathew had a huge heart and his family asks that you remember his big smile and incredible gift of making everyone feel good. When Matt walked in a room, it always lit up with energy.
The family has announced that there will be a Memorial Visitation open to the general public at Doane, Beal and Ames Funeral Home, 260 Main St., Harwich, MA on Friday 1/28/2011 from 4pm to 8pm. There will be a Religious Service for family and close friends at the Evangelical Free Church of East Dennis, 16 Center Street East Dennis, MA 02641 on Saturday, 1/29/2011 at 1pm.
Mathew had planned to travel to the Dominican Republic with his Church this summer to help families in need there. In lieu of flowers, Matt's family has requested donations be made in his honor to the missions project he was going to attend. TIME Ministries builds chapels in the Dominican Republic for villages throughout the D.R. Please make checks payable to the "Evangelical Free Church of East Dennis" 16 Center St. East Dennis, MA 02641 with the memo "Matt Warren Memorial"

To Matt's Parents, Brother and Sister,
When I heard about this terrible tragedy Monday night, after our meeting with the parents of the Italian Exchange, I have to say, my heart was absolutely crushed, and I was in total shock. Matt was such an exceptional kid, who was loved by all, and such a joy to have in our program as well as in my Italian class. His smile and presence just lit up the room, and he was just bigger than life. For the short amount of time that I knew him, he made an incredible impact on me. My heart goes out to all of you, and I only pray that you will find the strenght to get through this incredibly difficult time. You are in everybody's thoughts and prayers, and don't forget it!

Matt was always a big brother to me. He never failed to make me feel better and make me smile. If I ever had something that was wrong Matt was one of the first people I would call, knowing he would have the right words to make it better. I will forever have the image of him sitting on my deck in the summertime, at the table in his designated chair. I want to extend my deepest sympathy to the family of Matt Warren. I was fortunate enough to have worked with him at Nauset High School and it was always a pleasure to see him walk into the classroom with that huge smile on his face. I can still hear him singing along with the country music radio station on our field trips. His polite and kind nature was a breath of fresh air, and his ability to befriend every single student was extraordinary. One day my shy, quiet daughter who was in middle school at the time, accompanied me to class, and Matt was very sweet to her and wrote some cute and funny things in her assignment book. She so enjoyed the attention and I was amazed at the kindness he showed this little kid he had never seen before in his life. Such was Matt’s gift of making people feel happy and good about themselves. The world will truly miss his glowing smile and his beautiful heart, but his memory will forever inspire anyone who had the pleasure of knowing him.

Chris, and the Warren family, I am so sorry to hear about Matt, when we heard at our faculty meeting it was like a hush fell over the room, you could hear teachers crying and others sat in shock. I looked over at Michele and both of our eyes were filled with tears. Matt was always as you know in the gym and his personality has never been replaced, he will always be missed. I remember Matt from his years at Stony Brook Elementary, but he was easily recognized around town as he grew up ... the smile was unmistakable. Matt, you always knew how to make me laugh when I was down. Your heart, smile, and laugh just gave me a warm feeling everytime I was with you. There were some hard times and I was always by your side helping you along. You were so strong and I was always so proud of you.
