Mattie M. Floyd

To the Floyd family you have my deepest sympathies and condolences in light of the loss of your most precious loved one. May this time bring even more strength and regard for one another in your family.

While my condelensces may be belated due to my recent trip back home to California, it does not in any way diminish my expression of sympathy for your loss. Please be comforted in knowing that your wife's homegoing celebration was a product of divine intervention. In other words, in accordance with God's will and grace, ...All things work for the good for those who love the Lord and are called according to his purpose...) Although what we own and whom we share our lives with on this side are temporary, if we trust, with faith, we will discover that God is good. He will honor his promise that you and Ms. Floyd will be reunited for eternity on the other side. This scripture has gotten me through some rough times following the passing of my 16 year daughter, Malaya Ann in 1994. I trust that it will bring you and your family sense of comfort during this dark hour.

Mr. Floyd and family,
May your hearts be comforted and lifted by the love of God, and the precious memories of your love one. Our prayers and thoughts are with you.

Cheryl, I am so sorry to hear about the loss of your Mother. I still have visions of the happiness on her face the year I planted the flowers in the front of her home. Please know that I will always be here for you, should you need to lean on a friend.

To my dearest family, some things I'd like to say...
but first of all, to let you know, that I arrived okay.
I'm writing this from heaven. Here I dwell with God above.
Here, there's no more tears of sadness; here is just eternal love.

Please do not be unhappy just because I'm out of sight.
Remember that I'm with you every morning, noon and night.
That day I had to leave you when my life on earth was through,
God picked me up and hugged me and He said, "I welcome you."

It's good to have you back again; you were missed while you were gone.
As for your dearest family, they'll be here later on.
I need you here badly; you're part of my plan.
There's so much that we have to do, to help our mortal man."

God gave me a list of things, that he wished for me to do.
And foremost on the list, was to watch and care for you.
And when you lie in bed at night, the day's chores put to flight.
God and I are closest to you....in the middle of the night.

When you think of my life on earth, and all those loving years
because you are only human, they are bound to bring you tears.
But do not be afraid to cry; it does relieve the pain.
Remember there would be no flowers, unless there was some rain.

I wish that I could tell you all that God has planned.
But if I were to tell you, you wouldn't understand.
But one thing is for certain, though my life on earth is o'er.
I'm closer to you now, than I ever was before.

There are many rocky roads ahead of you and many hills to climb;
but together we can do it by taking one day at a time.
It was always my philosophy and I'd like it for you too...
that as you give unto the world, the world will give to you.

If you can help somebody who's in sorrow and pain,
then you can say to God at night......"My day was not in vain."
And now I am contented....that my life has been worthwhile,
knowing as I passed along the way, I made somebody smile.

So if you meet somebody who is sad and feeling low,
just lend a hand to pick him up, as on your way you go.
When you're walking down the street, and you've got me on your mind;
I'm walking in your footsteps only half a step behind.

And when it's time for you to go.... from that body to be free,
remember you're not going.....you're coming here to me.

I worked with Mattie for many years at Nationwide. This was back in the 80's. I can remember the perfume she wore and I always admired her and she was so kind and thoughtful. I can still picture her in my mind and she always had a kind voice and she made me smile. My heart was sad today as I read the obituary. My God keep her close and to the family I am sending my heartfelt condolences...

Heavenly Father, we Praise you for blessing this family with the time You gave them with their loved one. Lord we thank you for there is no more pain or suffering for her. We thank you for her Peace. We thank You because we know she is with You now and You are her Peace. We thank You, God for We know that You are in control. We thank You because Your Comforter is in the midst of the family as well.

Mr. Floyd and Family, I pray God's Peace for you all. Our Comfort is always in The Comforter, The Holy Spirit, Who will never leave us or forsake us, even late in the midnight hour. God Bless you all and you will remain in my prayers.
