Mattie M. Funk

Mattie M. Funk, 73, of Springfield, Ill., died at 12:30 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 8, 2007, in her home. She was born June 23, 1934, to Dallas and Kathleen Daugherty Phillips in Buffalo, N.Y.Survivors include two daughters, Vicky Drum, Cindy Vick; one son, Joe Schmidt; her “Chosen Child,” Shannon Garret; 10 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren. Funeral services are 7 p.m. CST Tuesday in Staab Funeral Home in Springfield, Ill. with the Rev. Kevin Torgerson officiating. Visitation is 5 to 7 p.m. CST Tuesday in the funeral home. Burial is 1 p.m. EST Wednesday in Roselawn Memorial Park in Terre Haute. Memorial contributions may be made to Mother Jones Foundation or Memorial Hospice.
