To Hazel and each member of Mattie Watkins family,
The comforting light of this candle is how Mattie's friendship uplifted our family, for more than 50 years.
Her smile and encouragement was a beacon of light that helped us press on, especially in times of trouble.
Our Mom thought of Mattie as her sister and closest friend, having known Mattie since 1953.
When our Dad passed away in January of this year, Mattie came to the funeral and encouraged each of us with words of comfort and her beautiful smile.
This precious memory of Mattie coming during our time of need will stay in my heart forever. I am so thankful the Lord blessed us with Mattie's friendship.
The Lord knows we need Angels like Mattie in our earthly walk, I am so glad He graced us with her presence in our family's life.
And one day, we will see each other again, in heaven.
This understanding is the candle of peace and hope we have until that day.

To the Family of Sister Mattie
Please except my sincere condolence, she will truly be missed. I often tell many church families the great impact that she had on my life as a child. She taught me how to be discipline in church, this will forever be with me. She was a true friend to my Mother (SisterRuth) and she loved her dearly.
May the Lord continue to mend your hearts and know that you are in my prayers.
