Mother Maureen of the Precious Blood O.C.D.

I knew Sister Maureen when we worked together on the Pro-Life Legal Defense Fund board of directors. She was a dedicated advocate for the voiceless. While I feel that she is now reaping her reward, she would remind us to pray for her soul. If we pray more than she needs, I'm sure she will put those extra prayers to good use!

Mother Maureen....your son is my doctor. He spoke of you with such admiration, of your life and spirit. Through his words, I feel a sense of kinship. Hearing of your life...has changed mine. Rest in Perfect Peace Mother Maureen.

The Board of Directors of the Pro Life Legal Defense Fund (PLLDF) expresses its profound sorrow on the passing of Mother Maureen of the Precious Blood O.C.D.. Before joining the Carmelite Order, Mother Maureen devotedly served the pro-life cause for several years as a member of our Board of Directors and as our Clerk. Many of us had the great privilege of witnessing her tireless effort on behalf of God's most vulnerable, and the honor of working with her in defense of life. Our prayers are for Mother Maureen, her family, and all of her friends. We will continue to try to emulate the love she showed for all during her time on Earth, and ask for her intercession in support of our ongoing advocacy for life. May she Rest in Peace.

I am so sorry to hear about this! Mother Maureen was one of my most memorable law students over the years! I'm convinced she is already in heaven, interceding for us. She was such a good person! I think it amazing that she died on June 26, the Feast of St. Josemaria, to whom she was devoted. My heartfelt condolences to her family, her parents and her brothers Tom and Mike, whom I remember with affection.

I knew Janice when she was in Boston, a young single woman. We had mutual friends, all devoutly Catholic women. We all had a lot of fun times together! I have wonderful memories of going out to eat, large packs of us, to a local Italian restaurant. Janice had a sweetness about her, and a bright disposition. She was very unusual and hard to forget. Funny thing is, I actually didn't know Janice all that well, but through friends I have kept fairly up-to-date with her life. I am so sorry to hear of her passing. She was a lovely person. I always thought maybe I would write to her, even though I knew she probably couldn't write back to me due to the strictness of the Carmelite order. But now I can just say a prayer to her and ask for her help directly, without relying on the mail! My sincere condolences to her family. Janice is surely in a much better place!

I'm sure we'd crossed paths in my passings through the priory's doors. May your path be in footsteps of everlasting beauty now a I send this in lieu of a card to be dropped of this week of condolences to the sisters left behind you. Mother Maureen will be a wonderful help for all of us from heaven. I wish I could attend the wake and funeral to honor her beautiful life and to share this bitter sweet time with her dear family and the sisters she lived with. To her parents and siblings I send my warmest regards and prayers. You and the sisters did a great job caring for her. I will be very united with all of you these days.
