Maureen Gabriel Obituary

Maureen Ellen Gabriel (nee KING) Passed away peacefully on November 12, 2008 at Lions Gate Hospital surrounded by her family after a brief but valiant fight with cancer. Maureen, Executive Director of North Shore Crisis Services Society for 11.5 years, dedicated her life and profession to the care and protection of women and children in the Lower Mainland. Maureen was also very passionate about the protection and care of animals through her dedicated support of the Animal Advocates Society of BC. Maureen is survived by her two sons Geoff, Charles (Anna), her brother Randy (Leah), beloved grandchildren Julia and Emily, and nieces Elisha-Grace and Maria Lourdes. Family, friends, and colleagues will also sadly miss her. A service will be held at Sutherland Community Church (19th and Grand Blvd., North Vancouver) at 10:00 am on November 29, 2008. Donations in lieu of flowers to the Animal Advocates Society of BC, 114, 103-1075 Marine Dr., North Vancouver, BC V7P 3T6.
