(Personal Support Worker for Barrie Area, St. Elizabeth Health Care)
Passed away suddenly on Friday, May 23rd, 2014 in her 53rd year. Beloved wife of Brian. Loving mother of Jory, Alexi (Duane) and Kimberly. Dear sister of John (Mary), Christine Dade (Mike), Rosemary Marson (Robert), Robert (Linda), Joe (Lori), Leonora Leonard (Andrew) and Lawrence (Karen). Daughter of the late John and Rose Platt. Sadly missed by all her nieces, nephews, family and friends. Visitation will be held at OSHAWA FUNERAL HOME, 847 King Street West (905-721-1234) on Thursday, May 29th from 2:00 p.m. until time of Service in the Chapel at 3:00 p.m. Memorial donations may be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation. .

So sorry to hear of Maureen's passing. I remember her as a young girl and a member of the wonderful Platt family when she attended St. Joachim elementary school in Scarborough. God bless her entire family at this most difficult time.

My Mother was one of many Maureen cared for. We will always be grateful that there are ladies like her. She was happy, always treated Mom with dignity and quick with a hug to brighten Mom's face. She will be missed considerably. I hope that your family will know how much joy their mother/wife/sister gave to this world. Our thoughts are with you all.

Condolences to you, Brian, and your family. We have fond memories of you and Maureen as our next door neighbours on Krosno. Both you and Maureen were so kind to our then young, two children, Charlene and Brian, who are now 34 and 31. May you gain the strength you need to endure your pain. Brian and Cheryl Pease.

Maureen was larger than life. Everyone working for Saint Elizabeth Home Care in Innisfil knew her. Maureen had that special quality of making everyone around her feel welcomed and loved. As a new PSW two years ago, Maureen took me under her wings and trained me. Because of her gentle and fun-loving approach I learned a lot from her.Maureen's clients loved her because of her caring approach and excellent psw skills ! Maureen was always so personable up to two weeks ago when I saw her at a PSW meeting she went out of her way to say hello and ask how I was doing. My condolences to Maureen's immmediate and large extended family at this very difficult time in your lives. Deepest sympathy to the Smith family and Platt family. Maureen was a very dear friend and coworker through Saint Elizabeth. We are very sad to hear of this sudden loss to such a wonderful lady. She never had anything but love and true compassion for her clients, friends, coworkers and especially her family. She will be dearly missed by all!
