I had the great honor of meeting and inviting Max to lecture in Germany. He was a great teacher and he showed to have a hugh amount of knowledge and understanding in the topic of pain and pain management. He was a pioneer in this field in physiotherapy and even during the last days of his life he was still looking further to find answers and solutions for physiotherapeutic management. He was a great and inspiring teacher and he will be missed by many physiotherapists all around the world.

Sometime in life you meet people that change your own path in life. Max changed mine and many of my fellow colleagues from the masters program in 2006 at Curtin. Thanks for all the time we spent together and all the knowledge shared with us all...Svein, Maria, Toby and Samuel..

Max challenged his students and always had time for questions from them. He was incredibly knowledgeable and passionate about pain physiology and physiotherapy. Thank you Max...for changing us all.

Max will be sorely missed in the physiotherapy community. The man was an excellent teacher, and while usually too smart for the room he always managed to explain things to those of us who didn't share his brilliance. My brief time with him has greatly influenced my thinking for the last 13 years. Rest in peace.
