Maximilian Herbst Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Nov. 1, 2003.
Herbst Maximilian Christopher Herbst, precious son of Kelly Fitzgibbons-Herbst and Christopher A. Herbst, died October 29, 2003. Max shared his wonderful life with his three sisters: Hannah Elizabeth, Halley Therese and twin sister Michaela Grace. He was fortunate to have the love and guidance of his grandmother, Agnes Therese Fitzgibbons, five devoted uncles, five beautiful aunts and twelve cousins who made every family event delightful. Max was preceded in death by his grandfather, David Alphonsus Fitzgibbons Jr., who surely is now holding Max very tightly in his arms in heaven. Max was born in Wheat Ridge, Colorado on April 14, 2002. He was born six minutes before his twin sister. He had some difficulty breathing for the first few weeks of his life, but very soon grew to be an incredibly strong little baby boy. Immediately after birth, his parents noticed that he had the eyes of a wise old soul. Max, this little wise old soul, taught everyone so much about love and life. Max possessed a hearty laugh and smiled always. He loved music. He loved to build with blocks. He loved to swing and chase his sisters. Max loved to go for walks to the park with his twin sister in their stroller while his older sisters rode their bikes alongside. Max was always the "captain" in the front seat of the twin stroller and loved to touch his dog's leash as they strolled to show that he was in control. Max was so strong that he could pick up a playpen and tip it over. Max just started to give kisses and his hugs were never ending. Kelly and Chris considered the birth of Max and Michaela to be a miracle. They prayed for the blessing of these beautiful children. Kelly created two paintings of Our Lady of Guadalupe that she donated to churches in Denver and Mexico and asked Mary to bless her with children. Kelly prayed for them using a rosary that her mother brought to her from Medugorje. Max and Michaela were an answer to these prayers. Max held this same Medugorje rosary in his little hands when he died. It was a privilege and an honor to be a part of Maximilian Christopher's life. May God bless our baby boy and keep him safe until we all meet again in heaven. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, November 1, 2003 TODAY at 2:30 PM at St. Hubert Catholic Community, 8201 Main St., Chanhassen with visitation from 1-2 PM and Rosary at 2 PM. Huber Funeral Home Eden Prairie Chapel 952-949-4970

Where does one start in expressing their grief for you. We too lost a twin this year. Our daughter, Lauren, was 15 months old when she passed away on April 2, 2003. Her twin sister, Alexis, and her brother, Nicholas (age 10), my husband, Dan and myself, all miss her daily. I am a member of the Twin Topics Twins Club of Crystal, Minnesota. Another of our members teaches at your parish's school. I would love to be able to talk with you - meet you guys for a cup of coffee - when you are ready. Please know we are here for you when you are ready. I have left my email address for you to contact me.

In Christ's love,

Lisa, Dan, Nicholas, Alexis and our angel, Lauren Basil

I don't know that I've ever read a sweeter obituary.

My heart goes out to your whole family. We will keep you in our prayers and we hope your son was welcomed into Heaven by our first daughter, Caitlin, who passed away in 1997, just after she turned five.

Peace~
