DOMINGUEZ Maximiliano "Max" Dominguez died peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Sunday, October 10, 2010 at the age of 67 after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born in El Palmito-Durango, Mexico and resided in New Orleans for the past 50 years. Mr. Dominguez was the husband of the late Patricia P. Dominguez and is survived by his former wife, Irma G. Perez, the mother of their five children, Maxine Dominguez-Morales wife of Carlos Morales, Elias E. Dominguez, Arturo Dominguez, Corina Dominguez and the late Eunice Dominguez. He is also the father of Alejandro Amieva and Jose Elias Amieva. He is the brother of Arturo Dominguez-Hernandez, Eva Umble-Hernandez and the late Lydia Dominguez-Hernandez and son of the late Simona Hernandez and Elias Dominguez. A loving grandfather of 16 grandchildren, who adored him, one great grandchild and a beloved uncle to nieces and nephews including, Victor Dominguez, Adrian Dominguez, Eddie Dominguez, Ana Dominguez-Stann, Lydia Dominguez, and Luis Dominguez, who loved him dearly. He was a retired self-employed drywall/finisher/painter, a teacher and the best at his trade. He was known as "El Conquistador" and will be remembered for his love of crabbing, fishing, football and he especially loved betting on his horses along with his faithful friends who will miss him dearly. Everyone knew that Max's doors were always open and knew where the party was. He was always welcoming and ready for the next social gathering. Max lived a fulfilled and happy life and his wishes were not to be mourned with sadness in his passing, but to celebrate his life with joy and happiness. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Gathering at the home of Max, 1503 Verna Court, New Orleans, LA 70119, on Friday, October 15, 2010 between the hours 4:00 P.M. and 8:00 P.M.
