Maxine Pomeroy Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jul. 14, 2025.
Maxine Pomeroy passed away peacefully on July 7, 2025, in Gig Harbor, Washington, at the age of 91. She was born on October 6, 1933, in Seattle and spent much of her childhood in the mountain town of Lester, Washington, nestled in the Cascade Mountains.

Maxine was a longtime resident of the Gig Harbor community and previously lived in Puyallup, Washington.

A lifelong lover of music and singing, Maxine dedicated 25 years to the Pacific Lutheran University Music Department. As Tour Manager, she planned and organized tours for the university's music ensembles, enriching the lives of many students and audiences alike.

She was also a gifted seamstress and quilter, known for her beautiful handmade creations that she lovingly made for her family.

Maxine was deeply loved by her family. She is survived by her four children: Vickie Lackman (Wayne), Susan Wittenberg (David), Stuart Pomeroy (Linda), and Lisa Brawn. She also leaves behind eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Maxine's memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her-a legacy of warmth, creativity, and a life well lived.

A private Celebration of Life for family will be held in Gig Harbor.

Memorial contributions may be in Maxine's name to American Cancer Society.
