Maxine Walsky Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jul. 14, 2025.
Maxine "Max" Walsky passed away on July 8, 2025, in Kissimmee, Florida, at the age of 78. Born on November 10, 1946, in Brooklyn, New York, to Gerald and Florence (Mapen) Walsky, Max lived a rich and independent life.

She became a registered nurse in New York City in 1967 and devoted much of her career to caring for others. Max lived most of her life in Manhattan and upstate New York, embracing both the energy of the city and the beauty of the countryside.

Fiercely independent and full of spirit, Max doted on her two beloved Yorkies. She had a deep appreciation for art, fine dining, and good conversation. She was an avid reader who cherished spending time with those she cared about.

Max will be remembered for her expressive personality, her bold opinions, and her deep love for family and friends.

She is survived by her brother Lance and his wife Joan, and their four children: Geoffrey his spouse Sharon and their two children Jackson and Ella, Zachary, Luke, and Nathaniel. Her beloved cousins Michelle and Denise as well as her best friend Alice.

Max's life will be celebrated at a private memorial dinner in Manhattan, with details to follow. Those wishing to honor her may consider supporting LGBTQ+ rights or animal welfare organizations-two passions that deeply reflected her values
