I knew Max in middle school. I was kind of a loner and didn't get out much, and on a random day he gave me his entire collection of video games for a console that I had. He gave me -years- of new experiences without me ever having to leave my bedroom and, to this day, the things he exposed me to have impacted my life and affect me. Games, music and more.
We hung out at school plenty, but it was this random moment of kindness that I always told people about for years afterwards. It was so impactful and he had no idea how much it meant to me. It created a chain reaction of things I later discovered and got into -because- he introduced me to all these things initially. Unfortunately due to school schedules changing and other life events, we just drifted apart. But I still thought about him every day. The last time I saw him in person was 2009 and I was so happy to see him. I was really disappointed when he disappeared from my life again.
After attempting to get back in contact with one of our mutual friends, I found out about him passing and it broke my heart. He was a great friend and I can tell by looking at the outpouring from his friend circle that he meant the world to them too. I've missed him for years and I'll miss him for many more.
Thanks for everything, Max.
