In Loving Memory of Maxwell Goldpin

(Menachem Mendel Ben Yakov ve Rachel Leah)

March 19, 1923 - January 12, 2025 Age 101

With profound sadness, we mourn the passing of Maxwell Goldpin (z"l), who left this world on Sunday, January 12, 2025, at the age of 101. Max was a man of extraordinary character, a devoted family man, a loyal friend, and a cherished pillar of his community.

Born to Russian immigrants Jacob and Rose Goldpin in Brooklyn, NY, Max was raised with strong values alongside his three sisters, Beatrice, Irene, and Faye. Max displayed an innate talent for entertainment, performing in the Catskills as a young man. However, his path as an entertainer took a turn after losing his father at a young age. He then became the man of the house, ensuring his family was cared for. In 1942, he was employed by the U.S. Air Force as an airplane mechanic in Ohio where he also successfully competed in the AAU Amateur Boxing Competition.

Max built a distinguished 60-year career in real estate with the LeFrak Organization, serving as Executive VP of Management and later as a member of the Board of Trustees for the LeFrak Trust Company. He was known for his kindness, respect for all, and dedication to helping others.

Above all, Max's greatest love was his family. A cherished patriarch, he never missed a birthday, anniversary, or yahrzeit, always ensuring his loved ones felt special. He was a longtime member of Temple Beth Sholom in Roslyn, New York, where his warmth, humor, and legendary storytelling brought joy to all.

An active and vibrant man, Max was a skilled tennis player until 88, inspiring many as a sought-after partner on the court. His healthy lifestyle included a passion for music and singing. Many will remember the heartfelt way he sang "My Way", a testament to the way he lived his life-on his own terms, with passion, joy, and unwavering integrity.

He was blessed with the love of his first wife, Muriel, and then his second wife, Susan, and was a proud father to his four daughters: Ronnie, Stephanie, Bari, and Cheryl. His legacy lives on through his 9 grandchildren: Jason, Joshua, Jordan, Jaron, Jessica, Austin, Bryce, Andrew and Sarah, his 7 great-grandchildren, nephews, nieces, and cousins, who adored him deeply.

Max was a man of faith, laughter, and boundless love. Max leaves behind a legacy of kindness, generosity, and warmth that will be cherished. May his memory be a blessing.

I knew Mr. Goldpin thru his daughter Stephanie, who I was pals with while living in Houston, Texas. I met Mr. Goldpin only once, where I shared a meal with him, his wife and Stephanie so many years ago. I have often thought of how nice and gracious Stephanie's father treated me that one night and I have cherished his kindness for over four decades. I hope I will meet this wonderful soul, when it's my time.

It is hard to imagine our family without him here with us each day. I know he taught me so much during my life and I truly hope that I can live up to his high expectations.
