Maxwell Smolkin

What a long and wonderful life. Max and Pearl Smolkin were the parents of my good friend, Rosalie Kane. They were delightful, interesting and hospitable people. My sympathy to Rosalie, Bob and David and their families. I wish them a long life.

Please accept my sympathy in the passing of your father. He truly was a gentleman.
My Dad spent 29 years working for him and always spoke very highly of him.

I was sad to hear this news but I know he lived a great life. Max was a hero and a inspiration. I will never forget when he beat me in checker even though he was going blind. You have my full support. Lots and lots of love from me and Justin.

I was saddened by the news of your Dad's passing...

Approx 7 years ago I was introduced to your dad when he would often visit his brother Dr. Smolkin at the Retirement Home.
His visits meant a great deal to Dr. Smolkin...

After helping out with the care of your dear mother Pearl up until the time of her death, I was pleased you still needed my help and support for your dad,
and was given the opportunity to spend a few weeks to help him at his Florida home...

He loved to walk and we would go for walks everyday and visit a few places in Fort Lauderdale... I was so impressed the day we went to the
Fort Lauderdale Mall... Such a beautiful mall... He treated me to a lovely lunch... It was a pleasant day and experience for me
having the company of your dad and seeing a little of Fort Lauderdale...

We would also walk along the boardwalk at the beach and visited many of the little shops along the way and have a bite to eat....
He amazed me at how well he did at his age and was very particular on what he ate which I think contributed to his longevity... He enjoyed his salads and healthful foods...

I will always remember Mr. Smolkin for his kindness and sharing with me many of his interesting life adventures and experiences...
He was a very intelligent man and did many important things in his lifetime and was admired by many....

We will always remember the times we got to spend with Uncle Max even though the distance between us was far. We loved getting to see him at the cottage. The stories our Mum told us about him and the family will never be forgotten.

I have fond memories of many shopping trips to the store in Arnprior with my dad to purchase clothing. Mr Smolkin could always find just the right item of clothing to suit. Many fond memories for sure.
