On a winter´s day, January 28, 1940, in Grenada, Mississippi,
God placed a precious rose in the garden of Leonard Winters Sr. and Dora Jones.
She grew up among twelve siblings in Grenada County,
her laughter and light making her a sister,
a friend, and a joy to all who knew her.
Rose´s life was full of color. She was lively, magnetic,
and the kind of woman people sought for a good time or a word of guidance.
Her door and her heart were always open,
her spirit always ready to lift the weary and celebrate the strong.
In her youth, she embraced the calling of motherhood,
raising Patricia, Joe, and Darrin.
Her love flowed into grandchildren and great-grandchildren,
binding generations together with the thread of her care.
Her journey took her to Chicago, Illinois, and Indianapolis, Indiana, where she built
friendships like family and earned the respect of everyone she met.
Rose left her mark with kindness, wisdom, and joy.
She is survived by her son, Darrin Ringo, and his wife, Tammy.
her four beloved siblings - Dora Winters and Ethel "Dee" Winters of Indianapolis,
Charles Winters and Walter Floyd "Manjo" Winters of Mississippi;
eight grandchildren - Alkendricks(Doris), Alzedrick (Chasidy), Donovan
(Christina), Joe III, Damarius, Deayre, Ashley, and Dacia; and a host of greatgrandchildren.
She is reunited in heaven with her parents,
her siblings who went before her,
her granddaughter Raquel,
and especially, her children, Patricia Winters and Joe Ringo.
Rose´s life was a song of resilience,
a dance of love,
and a story of faith that will echo in our hearts forever.
She has finished her course, kept her faith,
and now blooms eternally in the garden of the Lord.
