of Kinburn, passed away peacefully on Monday October 17, 2011 at Fairview Manor, Almonte in her 95th year. Beloved wife for 64 years of the late Allan Dickson (March 8, 2008). Dear mother of Linda (Ron Binette) and Sheila (Norm Black) and loving and proud grandmother of Gregory, Sarah and Jeffrey Black. Predeceased by her parents, James and Margaret McGaw of Winnipeg and her sisters Lottie, Margaret, Annie and Tilda. Also survived by a loving family in England. In her lifetime, May was a Girl Guide leader, private secretary to Colonel Ralston of the War Department, survivor of the Almonte Train Wreck, Sunday school teacher, UCW member, recipient of a lifetime membership from the Women's Institute, winner of the Noblett Literary Award and a published poet. She was an extraordinary wife, mother, grandmother, neighbour and friend. Mary was known for her quick sense of humor, beautiful handwork and the best fudge in the Ottawa Valley. The family would like to sincerely thank the very caring staff at Fairview Manor. Also our gratitude to all those who continued to visit and keep in touch with Mom. Visitations at The Boyce Funeral Home, Chapel, Visitation and Reception Centre, 138 Daniel St. N., Arnprior on Saturday October 22, 2011 from 7-9 p.m. and after 11:00 a.m. Sunday. Funeral service will be conducted in The Boyce Chapel at 12:00 noon. Following a luncheon in The Boyce Reception Centre, the funeral procession will travel to Pakenham Union Cemetery for burial service.
